#5337228 British Teacher In A Coma After Brutal Assault In Pattaya

Posted hotandhumid on 2012-05-27 23:28:55

Why keep talking about whether patts is safe or not? That is irrelivent with this story as this is clearly not an unprovoked attack, no chance.

Some idiots just like to bash pattaya at every opp they get.

#5202439 Car Video Cameras

Posted timekeeper on 2012-04-09 08:45:26

Do I need two cameras for front and back?  i would say so
Where to install? centre front & rear windows
When do I let others know I have footage of actual events? when you are 100% sure you weren't at fault or are about to be attacked by the mob that generally gathers
Should I make a copy before letting others know of footage? if you have time before you are beaten

.heres my set up

And the big giant cheques, who are these people, Happy Gilmore?
How embarrasing for both the victims and the government.
And why is the victim waiing him? Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Well, apparently you can. The article provides an illustration of palliative care and mental health resources for Thailand's poor and destitute.

"Real men" wouldn't fall for some crappy, get-rich-quick e-book marketing scam.
real men (with character) wouldn't render a judgment and call something a scam without any tangible evidence.

#5323750 PM Yingluck's Hotel Meeting 'Appropriate'

Posted Buchholz on 2012-05-23 08:12:52

Quote

Leading real-estate businessman Settha Thavisin had admitted to having met Yingluck there but there was no such confirmation by other businessmen mentioned in the reports.

There were reports earlier of the Shinawatra company being represented.

The other paper is saying that DPM Kittirat was at this meeting.

So it's gone from, "There was no meeting", to, "It was a Personal Business meeting", to, "It was a government meeting to discuss Real Estate Issues", and suddenly (after how many days), Kittirat pipes up and says, "Oh, yes, that's right. I was at this non-meeting personal-business meeting - government meeting".

So then a meeting between representatives of the property-development industry, and the government, represented by the Prime-Minister and also a Deputy-PM.

Why can it not be revealed, when questions are asked in Parliament, what this meeting was about ? Posted Image

This continued apparent cover-up suggests that it was something discreditable, PM-Yingluck should dispel this false-notion, by coming to Parliament and telling the country what's going-on, not by trying to brush things under-the-carpet. Posted Image

There was also a rep from Yingluck's family business, real estate company, SC Asset, that attended the clandestine meeting.

#5324194 Thaksin Shinawatra Wants Peace, Seemingly At Least: Thai Opinion

Posted OzMick on 2012-05-23 11:01:03

The counter theory is that with Thaksin no longer financing and/or paying attendance money, they will have to do it themselves. And, when asked to open the wallet to achieve their political ideals, they will find something more interesting to do.

#5319635 Accomadation

Posted patekatek on 2012-05-21 16:54:25

Check Agoda a couple weeks before you leave.  I have used them several times with no problems at all.  Even getting refunds worked ok when I had to cancel a couple of times.  They now have hotels where there is no cancelation fee.  I am in no way affilitated with Agoda, just a satisfied customer.  One word of advise (Ok several words):  Don't believe everything you read about the hotel on the web site.  Check the feedback from people who have used the property.  Some feedback may be bogus but you never really know.  February is after the New Years peak travel and cost period so you will have no problem at all finding a decent property in an area you want to stay in.

#5315846 Red Shirts Call For Justice

Posted Priceless on 2012-05-20 10:21:52

'Red shirts call for justice'

A good start would be to lock upp the leaders who incited the riots and burning. How about a life sentence each for e.g. Natthawut and Jatuporn?

/ Priceless

PS And yes, the PAD morons who occupied the airports should be subjected to the same thing.

I agree with Craig's post.

Siem Reap is brilliant. PP ok for a day or so.  A boat down the Tonle Sap to Siem Reap is pretty spectacular.

We love Vietnam and 2nd honeymooned there, Halong Bay for a few nights on a  junk  is very special. Hanoi was one of my favourite cities, didnt think too much of Saigon.

Check out the weather for Vietnam " From July to November, violent and unpredictable typhoons hit central and northern Vietnam,"

Hoi An ..http://www.lonelypla...-vietnam/hoi-an

Visa through an agent and collect on arrival or through the embassy

Luang Prabang (World Heritage) .. much to see and also the monks collecting alms early  morning is pretty spectacular.

#5315620 Several Stops

Posted simple1 on 2012-05-20 08:19:41

For Vietnam I would recommend no more than 2 nights in HCMC. Can get overnight tours to Mekong Delta – Buffalo tours are a reasonable operator. Fly HCMC to Nha Trang. Taxi from airport to Nha Trang 250,000 dong. Train Nha Trang to Danang, then taxi to Hoi An. Fly Danang to HCMC & onto Halong Bay/Sapa. Flying is best option around Vietnam as 10/12 hours per trip on trains can get tedious. Do not travel on the long distance buses.  Best currency for spending is US$. You need to check out the weather in Vietnam for your travel times as can have severe storms at that time
