Both the husband and I are UK passport holders, and our previous Non O (visiting Family) visa expired last year. Today we have completed our 3rd back to back visa run (HKT-KUL-HKT - Air Asia) and have been stamped in for 30 days each time. Today however, the Immigration Officer told both of us that he was going to report us for staying in Thailand for a long time with no visa. He did stamp us in for another 30 days though. I now have a couple of questions which I am hoping somebody can answer:
1. Mr RoyalJenny is applying for his retirement visa next week - I understood that there would be no problem in applying for the retirement visa having had 3 x VOA 30 stamps in his passport? Hopefully it will still be OK, even though he has been reported.
2. Mrs RoyalJenny has another visa run (HKT-KUL-HKT - Air Asia) on 20 March and then has a flight booked for the UK 8 April. Hopefully she will be OK to do the visa run in March, and Immigration will let her back into Thailand. (She will take all her flight confirmations to show she is leaving Thailand for the UK in April).
3. Has anybody else been reported for staying too long in Thailand without a visa. If so, what impact did it have, were you still able to leave and return, or were you stopped from returning. I didn't think it was a problem to do several visa runs and obtain 30 day stamps? I know it is not ideal, but it is something we did to get us to the stage where Mr RoyalJenny can sort out his retirement visa and Mrs RoyalJenny can head back to the UK.
Many thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
RoyalJenny

3 X Back To Back Visa On Arrival (30 Days)

Visa On Arrival 30 Day Stamp / Change To Retirement Visa?
2011-10-07 07:59:17
Hi All
British Passport Holder, currently on last 90 days of Non O Multi Entry (visiting Family) Admitted To Date 1/1/12
Sorry I have two questions, but they are VERY closely linked.
Question 1: Looking at the possibility of doing 3 x Phuket - Kuala Lumpur return flights over a 2 month period and obtaining the 30 day VOA (Visa Exempt? Sorry not sure what is the correct term here?) each time. Is this possible, or am I likely to encounter problems doing this many?
Question 2: After the 3rd trip, I will be applying for a Retirement Visa - I have been advised that I can change from a VOA (VE) 30 to Retirement Visa as long as there are at least 2 days left and no overstay (need to complete a TM7 and TM87 form). Is this correct and if so, would I likely encounter problems having had 3 back to back VOA (VE)?
I was planning on visiting KL and obtaining a single entry tourist visa - but the above option is working out far cheaper (Mrs RoyalJenny wants to go shopping also!) - but with flights and a nice hotel looking quite expensive. So if the above option is doable, would like to try that way. However, if there is any risk of it not working I won't!
(Please note, I will meet the criteria for Retirement Visa regarding the financials).
If anybody can help / advise with the above two questions I would very much appreciate it. If you need me to clarify anything, please let me know.
Many thanks and kind regards,
RoyalJenny

Will Be ‘Visa Less’ 3 Months Prior To 50Th Birthday
2011-06-09 12:35:53
I have read and been told of different options that may be available to me, unfortunately all different! So I am hoping that I can find out once and for all what is the best / easiest option for me. I really don’t want to be traveling back to the UK, so hopefully whatever I need to do can be done locally.
I am a British Passport Holder, my Multi Entry O Visa expires early Oct 2011 so will be doing my last visa run around that time and obtain my final 90 day stamp. So very late December I will need to sort out a new visa. My 50th Birthday is early March 2012.
I am married to a British Passport Holder (who is in the same situation with visas) but she will not be turning 50 for several years yet.
I have been told the following:
I can apply for a Single Entry O Visa in KL, so giving me 90 days, which will mean that I am on a visa when I reach 50 years old.
After my 50th Birthday, I can visit Phuket Immigration and change this visa to a Retirement Visa (obviously proving that I have either 800,000 in the bank for 3 months prior to application. Or an income of 65,000 per month (confirmed by British Consulate) or a combination of both?)
I was also told that because my wife is under 50, she too can apply for a Single Entry Visa in KL (based on her husband applying for a Retirement Visa), and then ‘piggy back’ on my retirement visa (but she doesn’t have to prove having money in the bank).
Once on this visa - we both have to report every 90 days at Immigration?
Is anybody able to confirm if what I have been told above is correct?
If it is correct, what are the chances of obtaining a Single Entry O Visa in KL, and does anybody know what evidence will be needed by both of us to apply for this?
If it is not correct, what options are left available to me (single entry Tourist Visa)?
Apologies if I have used any incorrect terminology in this post, but if anybody can help or advise me, it would be greatly appreciated.
If you need me to clarify anything further, please let me know.
Regards,
RoyalJenny

Ubc And Cable
2010-06-17 20:09:52
We have UBC (Gold) mainly for the English Premiership Matches, History, Discovery, Movies channels. Does anybody know if it is possible to also have cable installed? We previously had cable (2 years ago from Phuket Cable Co and was about 300 bht per month) so that is all set up to the house, but just wondering if you can have both cables for UBC and cable going into the back of the same TV?
We currently watch UBC on AV1, and from memory we used to watch cable via TV channel 1. We live in the Kamala area.
If anybody has this, or knows if it is possible we would appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks
RoyalJenny
