In Topic: Best Breakfast Buffet, Central Pattaya?

Another place that has its supporters is the hotel behind the hospital on Klang, Cant remember the name at the moment. I went once and wasn't too impressed.

Could this be the old "Little Duck" hotel? Was refurbished about 5 years ago and serves a buffet for 150 baht as well. I found the omelettes, chunky potato fries and Thai food quite good but this one had no bacon.

Even the Apex and 2 Leks have gone stingy on the bacon. They now wrap a lousy bit of bacon on a 1 inch frankfurt, still better than no bacon at all.

My favourite, breakfast! Although not exactly central Pattaya, I find that Lek Villa is the best buffet breakfast in town. Same kind of system as Lek Hotel but bigger, better and fresher. The book of 10 tickets are not inter-changeable between the 2 hotels.

It is a big dining room with windows opening out to a massive swimming pool. Top place. Casual 150 baht, book of 10 tickets 1100 baht, love it.

Location: Follow 2nd road to the Dolphin roundabout, keep heading toward Naklua and it's around the second or 3rd street on the left. Big sign saying Lek Villa on Naklua road.

I have yet to try Casa Pascal, won't be long for that one.Posted Image

My choice is to rent because I can leave if terrible neighbors move in, I need a change of scenery or location, the condo association runs the project poorly or any number of other reasons.   I never know what I am going to be doing in 6 months never mind 15 years and with the Pattaya area market saturated (and many more being built)  I would not want to have to sell.

Yeah, I'm the same Gerry, I rent too. He was very very nervous when VT 7 was being built as you may know it nearly didn't happen. He did ask my opinion and I advised him against it at the time but he wanted that view at any cost. But his building was completed in the end and he is happy, that's all that matters now.

Out of curiosity, what do typical condo units (say the 48 sq meter Viewtalay one) in a somewhat downtown (incl. Jomtien, or in between Pattaya and Jomtien) go for? Two million or so?

My friend has 2 x 48sqm condos in view talay 7. Both are high floors with uninterrupted panoramic views. His personal condo owes him 4 million. He bought it as an empty shell but fitted it out with 5 star fittings. The second condo he paid 4 million as well for it, he currently rents that one for 22,000 baht per Month. It is the views and plush fittings that bring up the price, there are cheaper ones in the building. To be honest, when I visit him there I don't feel like leaving it's so good there. Has a really nice pool and restaurant also, 2 laundries downstairs, small shops etc. He is very happy living there.

A mate of mine owns a super nice 32 sqm condo in view talay 7 Jomtien on the high floor (I think 20) he rents it long term for 22,000 baht per Month.

Only an idiot would pay 22K, even short term (which isn't to say that there aren't idiots around, of course).

.

She is a Russian who apparently works there with Russian customers, (travel I think). I thought it was a bit high too. He was a bit p!ssed off having to give the office the first Months rent. He got a 12 Month contract out of her. It is a single studio facing the beach, panoramic views.
