She's 20 weeks' pregnant. FCO has now withdrawn its warning against all but essential travel to KPN and Koh Tao - effectively giving it the all clear to go. On top of that we've contacted the resorts we're heading to and they've said that everything is back to normal. I think our main concern is having a nice stress-free holiday without having to worry about transport connections (ferries, buses to Donsak) and being stranded someplace. I understand it's impossible to guarantee anything when you're on holiday so I just think it's best to get all the up-to-minute info we can so we can make the right decision come Wednesday.

how pregnant? hospitals on the island aren't the greatest

and since you are British if there really is a travel advisory it might negate your travel insurance, best check on that

Thanks a lot for that. We're now thinking of a backup plan to head to Ko Chang if the situation's still bad by the time we reach Bkk.

Flying from UK on Tuesday and then Bkk to Surat on Wednesday. Or maybe not now...

where are you flying from? , weather is getting better, but for the next couple of weeks ( just while the islands get back to normal ) it might be wise to vacate elsewhere esp if your missus is pregnant
