Am due to arrive in KPN on Wednesday for a week's holiday with my girlfriend (who's pregnant). However, my friends in other parts of Thailand are advising against travel to South at the moment for obvious reasons and I'm now seriously reconsidering my options. We're due to fly to Surat Thani and get the ferry across but some news sources are even saying that high seas are still affecting ferries and I don't want to be stranded either on the mainland, or on KPN for that matter. I understand that many of you have businesses on the islands so don't really want to put off any visitors from visiting, but if anyone can help me out with some honest advice it would be much appreciated. I also understand that the meteorologists can never be 100% accurate, but am I also right in thinking that it's pretty cloudy there at the moment and more rain is expected next week? If so then surely more disruption is expected??
