I've not used Paypal in a while.
I'm wanting to transfer money from a Thai Bank to my Paypal account, and as it's not a huge value, I decided on Paypal.
Am I right in thinking that if a Paypal account is set up with the Thai bank card, funds can be moved from that Thai bank, to the Thai Paypal account, to my own Paypal account instantly?
I just want to make sure since I need those funds today.
Thanks

Uk Visit Visa
2012-02-18 00:56:51
Hi there,
My girlfriend and I have been together for a good 3 and a half years now. She has been to the UK three times on three different visit visas, while I've been to Thailand 4 different times, coming back just a month ago.
We would like if she was to come over here in April or May, however she has had a change of circumstances compared to the last 3 times. She had to leave after 2nd year of university to study to get high school grades (long story short, she didn't have them and the university won't let her start studying 3rd year without them first - fair enough).
So, on all three previous visas she has got, a reason to return was that she had already paid and enrolled for the next term of university. Now, obviously she would like to continue studying 3rd year university when she gets these certain grades (around September), however the weight of that statement is something i'm slightly concerned about when it comes to getting a visa from the UK Bangkok embassy.
Do you think there would be any issues getting a visit visa without my girlfriend being enrolled for university? We already have had a visit visa application refused 3 years ago so i'm very wary of this. Like I said though, she was able to get 3 different visit visas after this.
Appreciate any help

Re-Do Grade 12 Of Education?
2011-12-23 19:28:50
Hi, wondering if anyone is able to help me out.
My girlfriend is currently studying at an international university - currently in 3rd year - and has just been told that she she won't be able to continue studying 4th year as she does not have a grade 12 certificate from high school since she stopped studying the final year (she has a grade 11 certificate). So, she was told today that she has to finish this current 3rd year of uni, drop out and gain her grade 12 certificate before she can study 4th year.
Since I've got little idea about any of this since the education system is completely different from back home in the UK, could anyone offer any suggestions as to any schools/places where a grade 12 certificate can be earned in Bangkok and at what price?
Also, is it possible for this to be completed in a short period of time? Currently she is studying for a grade 12 certificate once a week on Sundays for free (Government funded??) however she would like to speed this process up.
Appreciate any help

Tourist Visa Exemption
2011-12-08 23:29:19
Hi there,
I'm from UK, flying to Thailand, arriving on 18th December and departing on 16th January, making that 29 days and therefore plan to get a tourist exempt visa.
From the Thai embassy online, their visa rules states that: "Foreigners entering Thailand under the Tourist Visa Exemption category must provide proof of adequate finances for the duration of stay in Thailand at the point of entry (ie. traveller's cheques or cash equivilent to 10,000 Baht per person and 20,000 Baht per family)"
I'm just wondering - are proof of funds normally asked for? Normally when I come to Thailand I apply for a visa in the UK (due to staying more than 30 days each time). It normally takes me 30 seconds to get my stamp in the airport and get through to baggage and generally, others on the same flight on visa exemption take a fair bit longer. Is that because proof is required?
appreciate any help

Barotrauma
2011-12-07 12:27:03
When I travelled to Thailand a few months ago, I suffered an incredible pain through 6 of my 8 flights over the course of my trip. The other 2 flights were not as painful, but enough to make anyone extremely worried. It happens during descent when flying and I was able to find out what it is - barotrauma. I've read quite a lot of peoples' experiences with this, with most saying it was the most painful experience they have suffered, one woman saying child birth was a doddle compared to it, others saying the pain of a broken bone doesn't near match up for it. Long story short, it's a horrible feeling that not only made me feel like my eyes were about to explode but my head feeling like someone jagging icepicks in it. I pretty much thought I was going to end up blind, deaf or dead each time. I've had sinus problems for the last 3-4 years where one nasal passage has always been blocked (changes throughout the day - weird), however this condition was pretty sudden being that I had never felt it for 16 years of flying beforehand, yet a few months ago I experienced it on all my flights.
It's probably a long shot, but i've figured since a lot of people travel on this forum, it might not be a bad shout to ask on here.
So, does anyone know of anything that can help? I've had a few suggestions from taking medication 1 hour before landing to putting hot towels in a cup then holding them over each ear.
I went to my doctor as soon as I got back from my trip a few months ago, however I still havn't received my ENT appointment, hence desperately coming on here and asking - though Sheryl and others have been extremely kind in helping beforehand with other questions. My doctor did give me some nasal spray - fluticason-propionaat but I've got no idea if that will help.
I fly in 10 days and I've read of people saying they have experienced permanent hearing damage - so I'd like to give that a miss if possible.
Thanks for any help.
