#5340284 Another Couple Of Con Men On Phuket?

Posted itsala on 2012-05-28 21:29:54

can anyone on this forum verify with certainty these allegations?

It is almost unbelievable, considering how serious that they are, that not ONE forum member has come forward with a first hand story. Only various armchair speculators and amateur CSI investigators.

It really is quite unbelievable that you can name and shame individuals without any redress, and allow a public pillorying without any factual evidence.

#5304194 Whats The Best Way To Send Money To Thai Gf

I need to send money to GF. What's the best way to send money. Western Union, Bank Transfer or just send in mail. Any help will due. Will be doing every month so the cheaper the better but still safe.

If you have a Thai bank account open another one with the same bank and get an ATM card for her.  You can then transfer from your main account to the GF account with no charges via Internet banking.  Alternatively, if she has a Thai bank account you can transfer funds directly from your account to hers for a minimum fee once you have set up transfers.

If you don't have a Thai bank account then follow the previous suggestion to send her an ATM card from your foreign bank, just be aware that unless she can use an AEON ATM it will cost her 150 THB per transaction to use a foreign ATM card with any Thai bank.  Depending upon your foreign bank account daily limit she may have to make more than one transaction to get the money so factor that and the exchange rate into her "allowance"

To wire transfer from a foreign bank to her account would probably not be cheap since you would have to pay for the wire transfer every month since the fee would be determined by your foreign bank

Under no circumstances use the Thai postal system and you have to determine which way is cheaper, International wires, foreign ATM card or Western Union

Don't send any let all the other bf's do it instead!!

Funny coming from the guy who changed his user name because people were calling out your ready made family relationship.
If you don't like it done to you, why come back under a new guise and play the same game that forced you out?

What the feck!! wow mate you have a serious problem!!  just for your information as you seem to have a problem, my user name was changed because of a bad issue with hacking my account. god some people are just down right nasty!!!

@KarenBravo: I understand you might be allergic to freeloaders, but the original poster gave no indication he is one. Why need to scorn so badly a person who is just not as well-off as you apparently are? The comments like that are the main reason why the Phuket forum is not very lively these days...

Please get well soon after your sense-of-humour bypass operation.

Eat for free every day by becoming a balloon chaser (make sure you only order a coke and nurse it for two hours).

Get money for your happy hour beers by rummaging through other people's rubbish to collect cans, plastics and cardboard (best to go at sun-up so you can beat the professional scavangers to the bins).

Save on laundry bills by turning inside out your T-shirts shorts and underpants (using a stiff-bristled brush on the underpants is recommended), a great conversation starter as numerous people will inform you that you have them on inside-out. Feign ignorance.

Flowers for your sweet-heart? Don't buy them, there are loads of magnificent Calla lillies that grow in the storm drains. Absolutely free!

Screen your face with a free base-ball cap. You'll see one lying in the road at least once a week

Free flip-flops.....as above, though you might have to wait a bit to get a right and a left.

What type of job will children get in Thailand even with a university
degree if they cannot be employed in a family business
I read in the PG awhile back junior medical doctors were only paid 15K a month
There are people working in bars with university degrees because they can
earn more money
There are already a few threads about that Peter. May I suggest you contribute there, and try to keep this one on topic.

Are you saying the Navel base here had no communications and only a ham radio operator did

Peter, I don't know what comms facilities the naval base has, but I do know that the only comms channel available after the tsunami was via HF (short-wave), and provided by a radio 'ham'.  If the Thai navy had HF comms, then it was not made publically available...

Don't be fooled into thinking that just because you have a shortwave transceiver, you can contact anyone else from 20-20,000km away. For many HF comms set-ups the signal would 'bounce' straight over Bangkok and be received by Igor in Moscow Posted Image

Anyway I digress.  What I wanted to emphasize is that shortwave radio comms (and ham radio capabilities) are recognised by many disaster aid organisations as of primary importance in the aftermath of a major disaster. As a 'techie' and radio ham, I try to ensure that my transceivers can be put to good use, such as direct voice and data contact with BKK or further afield, direct contact with overseas emergency organisations from my handheld 'walkie-talkie', (using Echolink), submission of survivor data via digital shortwave comms etc etc

khao lak, phangna, krabi, koh samet are all more respectable and better looking.

khao lak if you want to bored out of your mind!!!

We're talking about a honeymoon and not about a bachelor club outing. Khao Lak has lovely beaches some of which are very quiet, forests and waterfalls inland, plenty of restaurants, and also many bars where you can find people to socialize with. There is a wide range of accomodation possibilities, varying from backpackers dormitories to 5 star resorts.
Well.....you would say that, having a guest-house there, eh?
People being accused of having a hidden agenda doesn't make this thread more informative. In my case, posting here never brought me a single extra Baht of turnover, and I don't expect this ever to change. I value integrity, and I certainly wouldn't recommand Khao Lak to people looking for a vibrant exciting nightlife.
