Immigration Closure Over Songkran

Immigration announces the following:

Immigration Division 1 will be closed on 6 - 9 April, 2012 and 13 - 16 April, 2012. Foreigners who residing in Bangkok can do Re-entry Permit, Extension stay permit and Notify of staying longer than 90 days in advance before long weekend on office hour. For more details call 1111

Re-entry Permit stop services on Saturday 7 and 14 April, 2012 at Suan Plu Office


EDIT:  Re-entry Permit services will be closed on Saturday 14 April, 2012 at SuanPlu Office!!!!


Immigration Offices outside Bangkok will be closed likewise.

For a re-entry permit: For a re-entry permit,if you are in Bangkok area and you have an Internet access, you could fill in a TM. 8 form and send it to bkk1_reentry@immigration.go.th — You should e-mail the completed form 1 day in advance. — You have to submit a 2" photo and pay a permit fee at counter 7, the Immigration Bureau (soi suanplu office.) — Fee for re-entry permit:
1,000 Bahts for single
3,800 Bahts for multiple

No More Tourist Extensions On Weekends At Suan Plu, Bkk

Since 25 february 2012 you can only apply for a re-entry permit at Suan Plu immigraiton office in Bangkok, the service for extending a tourist visa there on Saturdays is no longer available.

Suan Plu is only open on saturday mornings, from 8:30 to 12:00 for a re-entry permit.

Applications For Permanent Residency Open Until 30 Dec.

Immigration has announced that this year applications for Permanent Residency will be open from 22 December until 30 December.

Persons wantinting to apply need to apply at Immigration at Cheang Wattana Road or at their local immigration office if not living in Bangkok. Persons residing abroad can submit an application at the local Thai embassy.

As always a maximum of 100 persons per nationality can apply, while their are also 52 slots for stateless people.

You need of course to have all your documents and fill in the tm9 form.

I have a problem translating it so I'm not sure. But I believe it means that people of Nonthaburi, Pathumthani and Ayutthaya must, just as people in Bangkok, start using their regular immirgation office again starting Tuseday Dec. the 13th
Remember, the Mo. the 12th is a government holiday.


I hope someone with better Thai reading skills can confirm the information is correct.


EDIT: Seems my translation is wrong: It should reead that people in Nonthaburi, Pathumthani and Ayutthaya should start using Chiang Wattana Road per 13th as temporary office.See posts below.
