I think I have a problem with an application for a 12 month extension of visa based on marriage to Thai wife. I'm due back on May 21 and fear rejection.
Bio Details : Uk male, 51, married to Thai wife, I have the first part of the Marriage visa extension, which is a non immigrant 'o' visa and have applied to extend 12 month based on marriage visa at the Immigration office at Laksi.
The story. Monday i visited the office 1 month before expiration of my visa as directed. I submitted the same paperwork as with my non - imm visa. We had all the necessary paperwork. The officer was much more officious than the previous one: asking me a number of pertinent questions, eg, how was I making a living, why hadn't I married earlier, etc, and picked up that we were effectively living in 2 places, Bangkok and Surat Thani. He also huffed and puffed a bit about the photos even though one is of us living together 8 years ago.
Anyway we were issued a case number, but just at the end he sprung a surprise and asked for us to come back within 48 hours with the tenancy agreement of our condo in BKK. This we could not find. The landlord just gave us a photcopy of the agreement, and it was only at the office that i realised it was in the wife's maiden name. Today we went back to Laksi. The original officer was not available so the paperwork was just left on his desk and someone or other told us the usual 'masi pen rai' stuff.
But I'm worried that it does matter, and what's more this officer will reject my application on the back of the poor supplementary paperwork. And that when I turn up at the office on May 21st, I will be refused. So I wanted some general thoughts by someone in the know if possible and specifically:
1. Should I do something else, like obtain new/amended tenancy agreement, or hire a lawyer to ensure things go smoothly?.
2. As my visa expires on 21st (same day as aplication), what would happen if I am refused?, would I get a 24 hour stamp or something to allow mw time to leave the country?

Problem/Complication - Visa Extension Based On Marriage To Thai Wife

Extension Of Visa On Medical Grounds?
2012-05-09 14:11:00
Dane. 68 male, used tourist visa and 4 days left on extension. In Bangkok.
My friend has developed a very bad hip which has left him bed ridden. we were hoping it would get better but it hasn't. He had one consultation at a Thai hospital and as far as I can tell he needs a hip replacement, there is no cartilage left. He can't afford to do it.
He can't possibly do a visa run and can't even make it to Laksi I think.
Is it possible to obtain another extension based on medical grounds, or something similar?
The thinking is if we can squeeze another month out, he should be well enough to get on a plane back home.
Urgent, please advise asap if possible.

Uk Man 50 Married To Thai Wants Marriage Visa Or Similar

Summary of facts and what we have:
50 year old male, UK. Currently on tourist visa up to 30 Mar, with a 30 day visa extension available (unused).
Married in Bangkok late December last year, we have the certificate and kor sor 2.
We are in Bangkok, as our business is mainly here.
Wife has changed ID card and house registration to married name but address is in Surat as this house is hers.
I have a supporting picture of us outside the house in Surat, plus pictures of us together over the years, as early as 2004.
If necessary can do pictures at apartment in Bangkok where we live.
1. What should I be applying for? (English and Thai transliteration if possible).
2. Is it possible to do this in Bangkok even though my wife's id and tabien ban is registered in Surat?
3. Despite being told not to, the Thai bank has produced my account letter and statements in English, is this ok? I have a bank book showing all transactions over the year (Thai Language).
4. What is exactly needed on the house map, just a few roads and arrows or an exact map?

I suffer from mild IBS, and tend towards gastritis. At its worst I can be quite sick if antagonised with poor diet or beer.
I have started to amend my diet accordingly. When I did some research on trigger foods, I was also surprised to see that I ticked all the boxes big time.
Can anyone check what I'm now doing and see if it is the right way of going about things, and any suggestions welcome.
I gave up alcohol a few weeks ago, and (unfortunately) this has greatly helped.
I'm now organising my diet around complex carbs, fruit and veg, eg, porridge, potatoes, brown rice, bananas, pappaya, mango, greens and beans. And I'm cutting out a lot of the rubbishy sugary stuff.
Because I suspect I can only handle small quantities of lactose, my first 'testing' food is lactose products, and so I have cut out ice cream and yoghurt, and thai style tea, which I used to indulge in big time. I am still taking a dash of milk in my tea. I must say I feel quite a difference in just 3 days although it's too early to tell.
I suspect my incredible tea intake also needs to be limited so I am holding it down to 8 cups (4 lipton tea bags)
A friend of mine suggested I might derive great benefit from bicarb of soda, so I am taking it twice a day, about a quarter of a teaspoonful dissolved in water. Is this ok?
I don't know if it is a combination of all the above, or the bicarb on its own, but I am suddenly flying up the stairs to my flat and sometimes go up to the top just for the fun of it, and I'm pushing weights in the gym I stopped doing 10 years ago.

Could I Have A Weak Pancreas?
2011-12-26 11:49:18
I'm not sure what I have and am very confused, and not to say feeling plain dog sick. I know I'll be all right in an hour or two, but wanted to get this out in the open as I know as soon as I feel well I'll go on as if nothing is wrong.
I suspect my pancreas is bruised or swollen, as a lot of my symptoms seem to fit the bill.
But I wonder too about the Bangkok pollution and exposure to chemicals, as my friends have been pretty sick too recently.
I am addicted to caffeine for sure- tea addiction. I'm routinely dehydrated. I eat very well now and take vitamins.
I have a history of mild IBS like symptoms, non allergic rhinitis, and I think could have been classified as a binge drinker (binge everything really including cabbage, apples and exercise).
When I have even a relatively small amount of beer, consumed judiciously (only beer, wine ok, whisky ok), I get ferociously sick, repeated episodes spaced overy many hours, right to the pit of my stomach. Last night it was so severe I nearly blacked out with the pain of vomiting, had a terrible headache, was shaking hot and cold. I think I tweaked a neck nerve the heaving was so violent and felt electric shock sensations in my hands . I felt like I'd been punched and was about to take the count. Luckily, stayed conscious, and managed to get a bit of kip, before resuming severe vomiting for another 2 episodes upon awakening.
I am only now an occasional drinker, for 3 months, and as I got married recently, we had a very small party with friends. I am very happy. I only drink once or twice a week and then just a whisky night cap. I can definitelly take it or leave it now, and most times leave it.
3 months ago I had a routine check up in UK, part of this was the full rack of blood tests. The diabetes one had to be followed up with a fasting test but this proved negative (I assume anyway as the doctor said don't call us we'll call you if.....). Everything else was A1, no high blood pressure and I have an athletic disposition.
I work out very hard for a 50 year old and sometimes this makes me a bit irregular too, particularly if I am working stomach muscles hard or run for a very long time. Yesterday I was working on my posture and over did it for sure.
Ironically, I have been in pretty much the best of health, but gradually the Bangkok air gets to my nose and undermines my health generally, first my sinus plays up then I feel sick in the mornings with post nasal drip and then it seems like my stomach gets effected somehow. Then quite some time later my bowels. That's how it seems to me anyway, I don't know if a chronic post nasal drip can do all that.! Oh, the last few days it's like I have had a bad stomach bug as I reckon I ate something bad, and I think I overdid the neck exercises I'm doing for my posture (typical tall male stoop).
Right now, I've come right again, save for a very sore neck.
Maybe it is the beer, and one pint does to me what 10 pints does to another, but can't help feeling my suspicions are correct. How would I know ?.
Any thoughts appreciated, but no point banging on about having a drink problem, clearly I can't drink anymore, but this is not the ailment, nor a cause, more a symptom that something else may be wrong.
