2012-05-24 19:12:30

Villa Phasing Out Thai Brands?
2012-05-17 19:31:23
this is the second time this week i went to villa and found the thai brand was discontinued. i like the danitas salsa, only 79baht/jar vs. imports which start at 120b/jar.
also, the thai brand hash browns were about 80b for 10. now you have to buy birdseye brand for 120 baht for 6.
i guess villa make more money on the import stuff
i wish there was a reasonably priced alternative to villa. (i know macro is pretty good, just a bit of a drive for me)
we should start a co-op!

Transfering Money Uk To Bangkok Bank With Bacs System
2012-05-17 16:47:13
my UK bank, Barkleys, is clearly still in the 19th century, abacuses, sliderules and stuff. they don't allow you to set up overseas transfers remotely.
but bangkok bank UK has a thing called the BACS system. you transfer money to a special account in the UK and add your bangkok bank account number as a reference code.
thing is, i can't find anything on their web site about transaction limit. http://www.bangkokba...et Banking.aspx
i used to think it 5000GBP but can't see that and no one answers the phone on that UK number
any ideas? has anyone used this service?
thx

Another Where To Find Topic, Electronic Components
2012-05-10 17:06:56
i'm looking for electronic components, resistors, capacitors, cable headers, that kind of stuff NOT electrical stuff and not necessarily computer parts.
is there any electronic hobbyist kind of places on the island? i know about the bottom floor of big C but that place is way too limited on the components side, i need someplace that stocks everything you need to build your own circuits.
thanks

Looking For Stainless Steel Fabrication Place
2012-05-10 16:59:14
i need to have some stair hand rails made up in stainless but not the round tubular type. i want the type that uses solid, flat stainless plates, about 2" wide and 1/4" thick. so i need a place that has the plate bending machine and can do TIG welding. preferably south or central island.
does anyone know a place?
thanks
