I'd say he got it spot on, from their website the Chang Mai-Bangkok-Singapore routes cheapest accommodation is listed as £1,800 per person which is around $2,800.

Yeah, that's right with the UK's high rate of VAT of 17.5% it makes everything much more expensive there, things will get even worse next year when they put it up to 20%!

Am sure others will chip in with Bangkok prices, but just comparing the prices on the Apple online stores they are cheaper in Singapore than in the UK
