It took my gf 45 minutes to realize I was gone. We were in Chiang Rai for a short break, by the time she got back to the hotel I had packed her bag and put her out. She had to drive back to CM and hide out with a pal for 3 days as she had lost face with her family.

If you allow Thai ladies to treat you like an idiot they will, they are world class at treating gullible farangs like idiots. They are the best.

The OPs friend is being treated like an idiot, and with a stunning level of disrespect. It doesn't matter how superhot or supersexy my gf is, she is not getting away with treating me like an idiot either.

1) Personally I believe it more than likely that these 2 "eyewitnesses" approached your site rather than Forums like this because they were confident their stories would receive uncritical, wide eyed acceptance and belief.

2) You claim to be an investigative reporter, however to date you have done no investigation at all, simply printed whatever stories people have approached you with. Here's a free idea for you - trace and publish a full interview with the Farang prominently seen on the Video attempting to restrain Behan. He was obviously present throughout the incident - from start to finish. Surely any unbiased "investigative reporter" would have realised that was an essential component in getting the full story? Additionally, as I already pointed out, it is somewhat telling that he has not come forward to voluntarily give his account - and defend his friend if he was not in fact the initiator of this confrontation; again surely something any diligent reporter should have seized upon and investigated?

I used to live in Texas and I tried to imagine what this situation would look like in a US context.

A Mexican immigrant (let's say a yard/lawn maintenance service provider), who speaks little English, comes to a Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) train station,  The DART security guard tells the Mexican (with a perfect Texas drawl, Pardon Me Sir) not to bring a banned item (let's say an Armadillo) into the train station,  The Mexican is not very conversant in the local language, and tries to argue using Spanish mixed with pidgin English, which the blond blue-eyed American guard does not understand.  The Mexican thinks the US rules are nonsensical (in Mexico Mexicans can carry Armadillos onto Mexican trains) and ignores the guard and tries to get onto the DART train, reasoning that American rules are stupid and that Mexican norms should apply in Dallas.
If this story ran in the Texas papers, we flag-waving Americans would throw the Mexican back across the Rio Grande pronto.  And recruit another yard/lawn maintenance service provider in his stead from the Home Depot parking lot.
