#5318045 Cheapest Flights From Thailand To Australia?

Posted David48 on 2012-05-21 05:07:22

Scoot, the 'no frills' offshoot of Singapore Airlines have some very cheap deals at the moment.

Unfortunately, if you intend to fly their Bangkok-Gold Coast route, the flights just don't match up and you have to overnight in Singapore.  So I booked AirAsia to arive in time to catch the ongoing let to Australia.

But, from memory, their Bangkok Sydney flight does not require a layover.

You're a cheapskate and yet you're marrying a Thai woman? Something doesn't add up.

#5315261 How To Use A Toilet In Thailand

Maybe they just use their hand to clean their bum and the water to wash their hand and the toilet paper to clean their hand

The first thing I would buy is a plane ticket out of here!

#5294798 If You Met This Farang, And..

Posted Beechboy on 2012-05-12 18:45:19

I think that I fell for one a week or so ago.

Dutch chap (stranger) sat next to me as I was having a late-night beer on Sukhumvit. He appeared to be stressed out and told me that he had just had his wallet stolen for the second time with cards and money gone.

His story was that he now had no cash to get back to his hotel to cancel his cards etc.

I gave him 500 and he shot off before I could blink an eye, with an "I'll pay you back" promise.

I only take a card out the go to the ATM and then straight back it goes to my apartment safe. I restrict the cash I go out with to a sensible amount and keep it in my side pocket. I have an empty dummy wallet in my back trouser pocket.

If this chaps story was true then he was doubly careless. If it wasn't, then he's the one with problems having to trog the streets conning people with a false sob story for a few baht.

#5263725 Financial Expectations Of A Thai Women

Posted Geekfreaklover on 2012-04-30 22:35:18

I see men in Thailand that have given up all material possesions, wear orange robes, never handle money and are more happy than George Michael in the mens room. I see women that work in offices and banks and schools that are earning under 15k a month and are very happy, thank you very much. I see motrobike taxi drivers who earn 400 baht a day and stop to give me a free lift to the end of the road because they know I teach the local kids English for free in my spare time. I see lots of happy people working day by day in Bangkok. So enough of the rich vs poor argument. If you have a job, a place to stay and food on the table you are rich enough to enjoy life

The point is that the OP's bird can't handle money and giving her more will not solve that issue.

happening alot lately! but what is this editors note: shite?

Hi my friend onenut,

i wonder why a few of my mates that have been involved in trouble in the uk over the last few months didnt get a mention in the local papers.Football related and drink related incidents happen in their hundreds at the weekend in England and i wouldnt dare to guess how many in Scotland and South Wales.
We have an incident in soi 6 of all places and people jump on the bandwagon and say happening a lot lately.

Give over man

I am English and totally agree with you. I have been to a few football matches in the UK and have ended up in some very frightening situations. From my personal experience there is much more violence in the UK than in Thailand. For some reason there are lots of farangs on this forum that have nothing better to do than put Thailand and its people down all the time. It makes you wonder why some of them are here. Oh yes, most probably because it's the best place to pay for a girlfriend because they can't get a real one for free. They hang around in bars and with prostitutes and then complain if there is any trouble. You would get in trouble in any country if you hang out in those areas and with those types of people. I have found Thailand to be very safe and very friendly.

#3827099 Fitness First..

Posted Chunky1 on 2010-08-20 16:21:29

I had a comical experience at Fitness First on Soi 39. Omg, they even tried to box me in. I made the lady leading the charge lose a massive amount of face since I basically just turned around and pushed my way out right in the middle of her routine. I could see her henchmen trying to hold back laughter. I guess some people get intimidated and hand over their wallet. It was really mind boggling. They could catch so many more flies by having the hot looking girls doing the signing up as opposed to the overbearing 35 year old "boss".

Hey guys,

I am starting this new topic to give some feed back to people who have been or going to be scammed here in Thailand, I know various types been used to con new arrivals here starting from the international airport, to taxis, hotels, restaurants, tailors, jewelry, games, shows,  prostitutes, lady boys, you name it.
So all of you guys living here in Thailand please post your personal experiences so that we can built a firewall against all odds.

Looking forward for the co-operation.:jap:
