quote//In Thailand you normally first get your receipt, then your money and only then your bank card. Not smart, because people may forget their cards after taking their money, but that’s a different story.//

I dont believe this is true at all. First you´ll get your money, secondly you get your receipt and finally you get your credit/bankcard. At least this is what happens when you draw money from ATM belonging to: Kasikorn Bank, Khrung Thai bank and Siam....

I thought Thai's didn't know who Hitler was.
Just to make something perfectly clear here. People of Thailand with somewhat education, they knows who that Hitler was.... They know. Maybe not in full extend, hbut they have read some stuff about Hitler.....
But ordinary people that most of us falangs comes in contact with on a daily basis, have not a single clue who Hitler was. Not even your dear wifes that you refer to, knows anything... So forget all that nonsens.
These guys you see in that video, they knows perfectly well what they are doing. And you do not need to be a rocket scientist to understand what you hear. The speaker is making an most improper salut as an answer to that idiot who screamed Heil Hitler a couple of times...
It is a shame that Thailand shows this behavior by it´s representative. There are already big problems to solve for Thailand as a 3rd-class nation and they do not need stuff like this. Thailand should work on gaining som "class" if they want to sit and "eat at the very same table" with the westerners economicly.

Why are we seeing so many reports of fatal accidents around Phuket recently? Shame there is not a more in depth report into the cause of the accdent. Too young to have their lives ended in such a tragic way.
According to statistics there dying 3 thai´s every hours round the clock year round. amounting to heavy 27.000 dead thai´s killed on the Thailand roads. This is a massive 12 times the numbers that i.e. Sweden have who with their 9 miljon people kill 300 per year.
This is the ultimate price Thailand pays for their way of dealing with education and performance and their policy of more or less "giving" out driving-licensies. And not to talk about how easy it is for a huge number of thai that just BUy their driver-license here in Thailand.
Why you fled the scene, I guess it has to do with their stupid opinion of loosing their dam_n face in all scenes of life. Imagine that you have caused an accident.... and than are being asked to take you responsibility as a man... like we like to think about a man. That is NOT the fact in thai culture, sorry, but no way....
So RIP to all the 5 families... it really saddens me that thaitraffic once again has killed 5 people......I just wonder when Thailand will ends up in the 2000 century........

Contrary to what many will say on this subject, I will say that Thai women in general are not that much different than western women. Their priorities may be a tad different (e.g., family is tops), but what they want in a man is a companion and partner, in addition to a provider. Which means communication is pretty darn important. So if you consider that a Thai woman can communicate perfectly with a Thai man, but not so much (if not zilcho) with a farang, then what does she want out of a relationship with a farang? As the old saying goes, money can't buy love, but it can buy near everything else.
Berkshire, well said!!! I agree 100%....
Here comes a rookie and the girl of course "plays all her cards", That is not especially strange.... She will push and push and push and if you threadstarter do not say stop, she will never stop. She, in her own mind thinks that you are there to "bang" her because that is what "falang do". many thaigirls think that sex is the only thing in this world that motivates us falangs to to up every morning, so if they can satisfy that, it is great for the girl...
In plain words, as it is now... you are being screwed over and over and over again. So plse stop and think it over, and take ONE step at a time and not rushing into things...
You can have a great and fantastic time here in Thailand as long as you (with nice means of course) are in control. But you can also have the worst nightmare in your life..... Thailand is fantastic in my mind and I really love to live here. But take it easy in the beginning before you learn how to behave towards the girls...... Thailand is full of nice girls.....
