#5330880 India- Tiger Poachers To Be Shot On Sight

Posted catmac on 2012-05-25 14:36:07

Wonderful news from India at last.

Many years ago I had the pleasure of seeing one of these magnificent beasts up close in Ranthanbore National Park in Maharashtra, it was an experience that I shall never forget.

I only hope that the Indian action is followed by Africa, where wildlife poaching is rampant. As for the poachers, I have no sympathy for them whatsoever, let's reinvent that old Wild West slogan, "The only good poacher is a dead one!"

#5320436 Obama Says Debt Crisis Needs Balance Of Cuts With Growth

It's not easy. But deep cuts only ... doesn't cut it.

So, you profess the US print more greenbacks to spend their way out of the hole they are in?

Obama and the Dems have lost any semblance of leadership. Over 1000 days and the Dems have yet to put a budget on the table in the House.

If the US government had to abide by the same laws as every other corporation in the US, they would not have passed muster with the Sarbanes Oxley regulations and be subject to criminal proceedings.

#5319877 Gold Prices To Continue To Drop, Says Expert

Posted HardenedSoul on 2012-05-21 18:35:37

Gold bears are completely missing the point.

Everyone knows we are in a deflationary spiral but this is not what one should be basing their decisions about gold on.

It is the central banks' response to deflation that has and will continue to drive gold's rise.

The value of paper money against gold will continue to fall for as long as the global central banks view the printing press as their weapon of choice against deflation so excuse me if I discount the opinion of some hack talking head on ABC Inside Business.

if there was going to be any kind of short term pop that would have been yesterday. The stock valuation always looked barmy but many (incl me) felt it would be carried  up on a wave of  euphoria.
The technical position for the stock now looks perilous, esp with a whole chunk of new sellers off the leash from  end August and the buying support looking fragile. FWIW i  suspect the shares will break below 38 over the next couple of days and there will be chances to buy in the 20,s (for those who want to) during this year.

As Hollande roles down the Champs Elysees in an upgraded 2CV , he has said he is going to announce a growth pact for Europe .. Does anyone believe him ..

a welcome change from smug sarkosy who looks as if he has something up his bottom ..

but can a left wing politician lead Europe out of this crisis .. I think not ..

I love France , the countryside , food and wine and wish it to succeed .. but it seems to be living in the past . ..when I worked in Paris many moons ago ...... Paris was paradise .. Posted Image

I hope it can continue but ...Posted Image

Actually I don't mind the fiat paper one bit. If anybody has a problem, then just send it right over. You see, its one of my hobbies, collecting this intrinsically worthless paper stuff. And as long as I can still go and have somebody exchange beer, food and fuel for these bits of paper, I reckon that's just fine.

Rhinos are not a good choice. They are a protected species, so I couldn't slaughter them and sell off the bits. And what happens when they become sick? My worth in gold Dirhams would suddenly fall off a cliff.

So sorry Naam, I recognise I'm in the system and by and large have to remain in it.
nobody has a problem with fiat paper 12! neither the resident fiat haters nor the odd clowns who appear sporadically here to present a little worthless fiat wisdom. the situation would of course change should Midas decide to retire in Kelantan, embrace Islam and trades free roaming organic goats against chicken reared with organic brown rice against halal Dirhams and Dinars. needless to mention that he will also pay his "zakat" in coins made of precious metals.

alternatively people come to realise "In God We Trust" on the back of a $20 was the biggest con in historyPosted Image

Yes, but a slogan such as, "in Goldmans we trust" just isn't as catchy.

As well as the internet monitoring there is also this one. Seems to be quite a batch of this sort of thing.

Terrorism is a FACT and conspiracy theory stuff claiming otherwise is ridiculous. I do not like these laws, but, unfortunately, there is plenty of justification for them. I always thought that 1984 was purely fictional, but it looks like things are headed that way and soon.
Terrorism is the invisible enemy that world governements have invented to justify war mongering and removal of the rights and freedoms of individuals. Not saying that that's the sole reality of it but it is a very convenient mechanism that has been harnessed and implemented in the fundamental goal for absolute control of society and the world.
To not acknowledge that as an inextricable element of the "FACT(s)" is a display of the foolishness that the world governments are indeed relying upon.
Thank goodness not all are so easily fooled!

#4982201 Thai Govt In Damage Control On Terror

Posted Galong on 2012-01-16 06:08:21

How far away does one have to get to truly get away from the American non-sense that constantly flows out of the government? Sorry, but meaningless scare tactics don't impress me. Furthermore, if two people can stimulate a panic without even doing anything, then the so-called bad guys win, period.

In addition, this 'cry wolf' crap is really getting old.  Here's an idea America: try minding your own business and stop pissing on the rest of the world. See how that works instead of the normal gospel-spreading course, please.
