Fraud Attempt In Thaivisa Classifieds

2010-11-02 07:08:33

A seller is currently advertising a motorcycle (Yamaha T-Max) for sale in the Thaivisa Classifieds section for only THB 95.000. This price is very low and too good to be true, for an almost new motorcycle with green registration book.  I tried to contact the seller, who claims that he is now working in Italy, but still need to sell the bike, which has been left here.

Unconveniently the seller has no friends in Thailand who he can trust, and offer personally to fly all the from Italy to meet you in Bangkok, for this one reason to sell the bike to you.  But first you will have to deposit the price in one of your  friends name at Western Union.  The seller claims that he already went here once to sell the motorcycle, but the first buyer did not want to buy, so the seller require some kind of guarantee, that the money will be available.  The seller claims it to be 100% safe for you, to deposit the amount at Western Union in your friends name, and then send a scanned copy of the receipt to the seller.  After receiving the scan, the seller will make appointment to meet you in Thailand, so that you can see and test the motorcycle, before you make the final decision to buy.

As far as I see, anyone with the money transfer number from Western Union (and eventually a fake ID), will be able to get access to the money deposited, so please all be warned and do not allow yourself to get fooled by this seller.

If a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably isnīt true.B)

Honda Click-I Vs. Suzuki Skydrive. Any?

2010-09-17 10:15:47

I am living in Bangkok East (Srinakarin area) and will soon need to buy a new small motorbike/scooter for local shopping only.  I like the underbody bikes, which allows a few shopping bags to be placed between my legs, and I do require Fuel Injection (not carburetor) which have left me with two options left:

A)  Honda Click-i Forward (110 cbm)

B)  Suzuki Skydrive (125 cbm)

Prices are almost the same just below THB 50.000.  I would like to buy which one of these gives me most VALUE FOR MONEY, considering pleasure, performance, stability, safety, maintainance costs, resale value etc.  Do any of you know if there will be any major changes for the 2011 models, like if Honda are planning a larger engine, to compete with the new 125 cbm Yamaha Mio?

If I needed to drive longer distances, I would definitely consider to buy a Honda PCX, but unfortunately I don´t and have an idea, that it would be too heavy to handle in the small soi´s.

If any of you have done this comparison before or have experience with one or both above bikes, I would be happy to receive your suggestions :D

Thnks in advance!
