Robberies like this happen in every city in the world, even Chiang Mai.  Luckily for those of you that never walk around the city late at night you probably don't have to worry much, though I'm not sure why you feel the need to brag about how early you go to bed.  For the rest of us that are out late, thank you for the post.  It's good to have a reminder from time to time not to get too lax when walking home from the pub.

Sorry, I guess I didn't go far enough through the booking process to see the full fee.  Lame.  Then again, if I have to sit on that overnight bus to Udon Thani and deal with Vientiane tuktuk drivers one more time I'm going to slit my wrists.
