Pic16/Pic18 Developer Wanted For Small Project

2011-12-20 22:49:28

I am looking for a technician/developer that has knowledge about the PIC16/PIC18 micro controllers.
Nothing fancy just an 4x20lcd/keyboard with rs232. Program should have e-mail like capabilities for short messages and a menu structure to choose statusses to send.
If you know someone please send PM with email and small introduction/experience.
I can offer around 10-20k baht for it. Development board and software should already be in your possession, but can be provided if necessary.

Visa On Arrival To Non 'O' Marriage Visa

2011-11-15 04:46:05

Scored some cheap tickets, but this means i have to fly quick. Too quick to obtain a non 'o' marriage visa in The Netherlands. It takes 2-3 working days and that is unfortunately too late.
Normally i arrive with at least a single entry non 'o', but this deal for the tickets is too good, a little inconvenience obtaining a non 'o' is worth it. (4 people for 350 euro instead of 1700 euro!!)

Is it possible to arrive on a 'Visa on Arrival' and change that in Thailand to a non 'o' marriage visa?
I have the funds in the bank, rental contract, business in Thailand etc.
Last time in Thailand was also on a multiple non 'o' and i stayed 7 months.

Poor Mans Precious Metal

2011-01-27 02:18:59

With todays prices for copper and nickel did you know that the 25 and 50 setang and 1 baht coin are worth more then their face value?
This would not be a bad 'investment' as your investment would never go lower then face value but has upward potential.
If i calculated right a 25 setang is the most valuable at almost double its face value.
When copper prices go even higher it would be worth the trouble of melting them down.

Opinions?

btw i prefer gold and silver myself as these are more compact and easily traded.

How To Test Swimming Pool Water

2011-01-07 02:20:30

I am going to stay a few weeks in Bangkok and at that place they have a nice swimmingpool. However i have never seen anybody doing anything around it. And only very few people take a swim.
It looks good but looks can be deceiving.
Did not smell chlorine, can be bad or they are hopefully using just enough.
Water is clear, no sludge on the bottom, ridges and intakes.

What would i need to buy to test the quality of the water?

Where To Pay Tax? Hypothetical Question

2010-12-21 21:40:14

I was reading the tax rules again from Thailand and my home country The Netherlands.
Both countries state that someone will be a 'resident' for tax purposes when residing in the country more than 180 days.
At the moment i pay tax in Thailand, because i am employed by my own company, seems the proper thing to do.
What i was wondering about is how are these days in a country counted?
I presume from the day you enter until you leave one or more times during a year.
In my case this year and probably next year i will be around 170 days in Thailand followed by 175 days in The Netherlands, 21 days in New Zealand and then back in Thailand again for 170 days and the cycle probably repeats.

I am under the 180 days the next few years. I have unregistered myself from the Netherlands when i went to Thailand on a 'O'- marriage visa. I am not registered here in Thailand except the 90 days reporting.

In theory i would not be a resident anywhere. :) So why am i paying tax. :)
