Got my monthly TOT bill today, and there seemed to be something on the envelope about a good promotional deal for high speed internet.
But it was all in Thai. So I checked their website, and it seems the information is there, too, but again, only in Thai.
Anyone? Is this what it seems to be, and any idea if one can just change plans to take advantage of this new promotional offer?

Wild Thai Ferret?
2012-04-01 15:06:20
Sitting on my deck a short time ago just reading the newspaper, and a small "beast" came across the grass. I'm just across the fence from a decent wooded area.
I know it wasn't a squirrel - seen those before.
About 8~10 inches in body length, dark brown with a pointed nose, slightly furry; had a slightly bushy tail (not full squirrel-like, but clearly not just skin, i.e. rat-like) about 8 inches long.
No chance of getting the camera, but this is the first time I've seen this critter. Not worried, just curious to know if Thailand has wild ferrets, as that's what it seemed to be.
Or any idea what else it might have been?

Credit & Praise Where It'S Due

I have many times abused TOT for service faults, but I also believe some credit and praise is due when they do something very right.
My internet connection has been up and running without regular fault now for several months. That is seriously unlike the situation I had last year, so credit to TOT for improvements, at least in my area.
Also, I had a slowing of my connection in the past few days. Don't know if it was due to some inclement weather or not, but I did phone their English help line and got immediate and friendly help.
Technicians were out this morning to check the lines, and replaced some small wire in a box on the pole. I have no idea what they were doing, but ...
All up and running very fast now. No more Tai Chi internet!! Downloads at super speed, and full connection.
So, I will complain when something's not working as it should, but sometimes we do owe credit and praise when there is good service and things are working.
So, credit and praise to TOT

As some might remember, a while back I was asking advice about kick starting my Yamaha Nouvo Elegance after it had been sitting for several months. See here for that conversation.
Arrived back home on Friday afternoon, plugged the new charger in and connected the battery. The light showed yellow, indicating charging. Somehow it almost seemed too short a time before that light went green, indicating that it was fully charged, but maybe my colour differentiation isn't so good and it was simply a gradation of the initial yellow.
Anyway, left it to get an overnight charge, and Saturday morning went out and reinstalled the battery.
Took three or four tries with the ignition button of maybe ten seconds each, and it sputtered. A couple more tries, and it started up. I tried moving but it immediately died, so I restarted and left it idling for five to ten minutes. Then I went off on a 60 km warmup ride to get both the bike and myself reacquainted and working together.
Everything working super fine. No kick start needed at all!
Thought people might like a bit of an update, particularly with such a great outcome.

Kick Start My Nouvo
2011-10-06 01:34:25
I'm heading "home" in just a short time and looking forward to it. Spent my summer in North America, but getting out of the cold and coming back to LOS.
I know my Nouvo Elegance is sitting waiting for me, but after several months of not being started and run, I also know the battery will be totally flat and it won't start just by using the key and button.
So, I'll have to kick start it. Never done this before. Up on centre stand, brake on, turn ignition key to on, and then ....
Advice? Should I slowly push the kick starter a few times before putting some effort into it? How about twisting the accelerator handle once or twice, or just let the pump do its work?
Once I've got it started, I'll see about running it for a while and running up the highway to recharge that battery. How long, and for what distance would be appropriate to ensure a simple start next time?
Recommendations and advice welcome.
While I have your attention, I know that my registration and insurance expired at the end of September, so I'll have to run for a few days without until I can get to the office to renew them. Hope I don't have any trouble with the BIB. Anyone know of a way of changing that rego date, as the same thing will occur over the next several years - I bought and registered the bike originally in September, but will regularly be returning in October, after the original rego date has expired.
