Yes a very small world, loved them days “never saw much drama at any soul venue I attended, I cannot remember if they used to have door men at many clubs (but must have).

Northern had a big following in Derbyshire at that time; you would see people at other venues throughout the country and pick up right where you left of last time.

It is great that Mr Plumes and his crew have got something like this of the ground; I will defiantly be popping in when I get home at the end of the month.

There seams to be a good response to the thread, so hope the events get well attended, I for one will gladly spend 400Bht (with a charity being involved also) just for the music to remind me that I was 19 at some time.

Good Old days I use to work at Markham Colliery. Soon as we finished Fri would get together with a few Friends and head of somewhere, to Soul venue, Abby dale Road in Sheffield, Assembly rooms Derby, Fleet Club in Peterborough   Matlock Bath All day, er  , Wigan (Mr M,s), Scarborough, we-enders , Torch Stoke, Wow brings back some very good memories good times good people, Did not need Beer in them days “””and never had to worry about getting putting on weight either?

Guys many thanks for taking the time to post very helpfull, the advice already is very helpfull to us, as you know you can go through Hotel sites all day ,but nothing beats on the ground knowlage cheers

Hi Mate ,it just depends on where you are staying and what you call a good club if you are in to heavy clubbing go the RCA area there are lodes of good clubs here ,some people say it is mainly  for the young ,and Thai but my mates have had a very good time down there .If you are Sukhumvit , and you can go to Climax at the Ambassador Hotel (good club) go late after you have had a few beers around the local bars. Liquid at the Nana Hote (good club)

  There is Boss ,and Bossy I think is still open Taxi usually take you there free as they get a back hander for delivering you ,but I did have a good night in there last time I was on leave there.  Bed super club ok but a bit different  from climax and liquid , but still worth a visit Q Bar just round the corner from Bed I found this ok there is a cover charge and 2 drinks inclusive of cost  can get full especially on NYE. Other good bars music type places are Bangkok beat on soi 7/1 good band and lots of friendly people ther, Morning night bare soi 4 Nana Big Dogs, Any way mate there are lodes in the area  these are just a few. I  hope this is a starting point for you all the best  ( ps I think most of the big clubs will have some type of NYE cost placed on them.

   And also I forgot just opened is Insomnia I have not been so don’t know the score but if the one in Pattaya is anything to go by it should be busy   Regards Andy
