Why not extend your retirement and get a re-entry permit.

One of the reasons is in post number 7 and also I enjoy travelling so don't mind leaving the country every 3 months.

Seems by reading your post your are in Thailand, why not go to one of the countries around here?

A couple of reasons.
I'm leaving for the UK anyway at the end of this month and I think you need proof of marriage to a Thai when applying in neighbouring countries.
I'm not married.

I'm not worried about the Thai Immigration end just the check in at Manchester Airport when they ask to see my passport and ticket as there will only be a few days left before the visa expires.

In Topic: Conversion Of Tourist Visa To Non Imm O

If you are buying a tourist visa why not buy a single entry non immigrant O and not have to make the conversion (assuming your Consulate will issue that - most will).

Believe show of funds (not seasoning) is the requirement for change of status.  A 90 day stay seems to be from date of application (and if money meets requirements sometimes both issue and extension can be done same day).

Not sure if Hull will issue me with a non imm O single without the same paperwork required for the multi entry,I guess I'll give them a call when I get back to the UK and explain that I need it for a retirement visa and see what they say.

Thanks for your reply
