Very worrying, I tend to think of Thailand asked malaria free. The geography is also a concern. How did this form of malaria transit from Cambodia to the east of Thailand and Burma in the West? Via what route? Does this mean the central belt of Thailand is now infected? Or did it not transit at all and all malarial strains are simply mutating into a resistant form which being resistant may spread across previously uninfected areas?

Maybe just infected people transit?
Koh Payam, a beautiful island is also infected......
h90,

Do you have any further info on how it's affecting Ko Payam, Have been there many times and have friends on the island

My wife has failed this test twice getting 16 correct answers on each test. On her new application for an extension to TLM I added a letter from her boss and from me stating that the job she has been doing for the last 3 years involves talking and listening to hundreds of English speaking people each day. They gave her a 3 yr extension.

We are now approaching this problem more seriously as the thought of having to attend a college for 2 hours, twice a week for 16 weeks would be a real pain.

Ps. I think they will struggle to kick her out, this would infringe you and your wife's human rights, especially as she is in the UK

In Topic: Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin

I have been having problems with a particular tooth and before Xmas I had enough and decided to have it out, my Thai wife phoned Bangkok Hospital in the morning and arranged an appointment for a tooth extraction for 5.00pm later that day. We turned up just before 5.00 and reported to reception, after a couple of minutes of Thai chat I sensed a problem, they had booked the appointment at the main hospital in Bangkok and the dentist at Hua Hin had gone home. So not happy and in pain they make another appointment for the next day at 3.00pm, I ask for some good pain killers to see me through to the extraction.By now we have an administrator with us and we get directed to a room where my blood pressure is taken, I'm thinking I just want some pain killers, then to a doctors office, pain killers please and finally to the pharmacy. After 5 mins 3 small bags of pills were produced with an invoice for 2000 baht, now I'm really not happy. I'm a wheelchair user so had to take a taxi to the hospital, 200 Baht and home another 200 Baht and now they want to charge me for something I wouldn't have needed if they hadn't ..... up the appointment. The wife had her purse out and didn't want a scene, I didn't want a scene but I didn't want to pay for something that wasn't my fault. After trying to explain my problem with the head of the pharmacy, she called up stairs and made an offer of 10% discount, I told her politely where to put the 10% and that I wasn't paying anything. The break in the stand off came when the administrator arrived again and to the hospital's credit a deal was made. No charge for anything today and the hospital mini van will pick me up and take me home tomorrow, a fair result.

Why did we always have to fight in Thailand for a just and fair solution to a problem that was not our fault, do the Thais shut up and pay up? My wife comes from N.E.Thailand and anytime she comes in contact with officaildome she curls up like a helpless puppy, she has been living in London for the last 5 years and has a decent job but as soon as she has contact with a policeman, lawyer, accountant, government official, even in the bank, the helpless puppy appears, I try and help her and explain that she is paying for a service from these people so that really makes her the boss, even though she comes from the N.E of Thailand.

My savings account card was cloned in London a couple of years ago, I didn't use the card for a few weeks and they emptied the account, when I found out I contacted the bank and had to fill out several statements, another statement at the local police station and then had to wait 6 wks for my money to be refunded, it must be fun if it happens here.
