Anyone know anything about the boat that looks like a custom submarine in Patong Bay this morning?  All white and saw no country flag flying.
almost looks like a sub but have never heard of anyone owning a private sub.

I have been told that they now have ONE body scanner in operation .  Its seems to work but i am curious as to what they are scanning for and how deep it scans?
Ie does it only go thru your clothes ( to see strapped on drugs/items) or does it go deeper to check ur body cavities?

I know u can refuse and request a pat down but will that raise suspicion?  I recall may years ago, (before digital) they would request u to place ur film thur the xray and they CLAIMED it would do no harm, or u could request the film be hand searched.

So now u need to allow more time on transfers

I have just been informed by a good friend of mine here in Phuket about new regulations concerning taking a Thai registered car out of Thailand.

This is for Phuket.

If ur traveling to Malaysia u need to go to the DMV and obtain a paper stating the car is urs.  U need to present ur Passport, Car Blue Book and proof of ur residence here in Phuket.  Easy to do 30 minutes 75 baht.

You will NOT be allowed to cross into Malaysia without it.  He went down  tried to enter via Sado and they sent him back to Phuket for the paper.  Once he had it, no problem.  Before you could just enter with ur blue book  . YOu still need to have ur car number placed on the back of ur car in English

If your traveling to Cambodia, Laos & Vietnam you need to take the same info above and they will make u up a NEW book for ur car which u need to have to leave Thailand  you will ask for a get 3  books at the same time, ( one for each country)    25 Baht each

You also if ur traveling to the above 3 countries you need to get a sticker with the Capital T . SO far I have no idea where to obtain such sticker so if anyone knows PLEASE tell me.

I am planing a trip from Thailand thru Ko Kong, up thru Cambodia and exit into  Laos before returning to Thailand Via Nong Khai which i am told can be done with the new book so this is all very good timely info.

Note for Malaysia and Laos you need and can buy temp Insurance.  For Cambodia u can not.  For Vietnam , I don't know.

been dealkin gwiht thius over 2 months, the speeds for my cdma here in Kamala have been steadliy going downhill.

Called them the other day and talked with the lady who then got the guy in Surat thanion the line.  He =chekd my spped and ( speaking in thai) told the cusutomer service my speed was 150 download.  ( she then told me in engliosh the fault was my computer  LOL thinking i did not undersdtand Thai
told me to bring  my laptop in so they could check my settings

so then for fun i ran some tests  using speakesasy  sf

march 25th
6:45 am  1041 down, 250 up
8:15  895 down  409 up
8:45 526 down  480 up
11:00 325 down  450 up
1 pm  390 down  450 up
2:20  210 down  467 up

it is obvious that they have oversubscribed and bandwidth is just not there.

Today the CAT tech guy came tomy hoiuse with his laptop and tested speeds using speakeasy.net  sf
he got 210 down 440 up
then he tested using his speed test for bangkok  and got 260 down 320 up

He said he will send hi rpeort into Bangkok as if that will do me any good.

So for anyone thinkin gof buying the cat card and using cat  DONT!!!

When will thailand start thinking about cusutomer service?  ( i will answer that) when they can make $$ off of it not before
