Green Cobra Visit

2011-03-16 22:44:33

Yesterday our maid alarmed me, telling there was a big cobra in the pump room for the pool. Since I not long time ago read a story in Phuket Gazette about a guy in Chalong that had an unvanted cobra-visit in his house, and he got help from "snake-rescue" in Chalong, I deceided to call them since I'm located in Kata.
It didn't take more than 20 minutes before 3 young men were here in their rescue-car, and after a few minutes, the 1,3 meter long green cobra were taken very well care of, and will probably be released into wilderness hopefully far from my house.
My neighbors said this snake show was "cool".
I really hate snakes, and have to admit that the baby cobra I found last year in my garage got a more permanent destiny.
But anyone that need snake-rescue should write down phonenumber 076-283 3467. These guys were great!

Rental Car In Nakhon Phanom Or Sakon Nakhon

2011-03-08 09:54:21

My wife have family in this district, and we visit them every year, but since the family don't have a car we have taken a flight to Udon Thani and rented car there. I'm kind of tired of driving so much, and would like to kow if there were any rental car companies posible to use, that would deliever a car at the airport in either Sakon Nakhon or Nakhon Phanom. I visited Sakon Nakhon recently, and there were a sign for rental car there, but the charged 16 bath pr. kilometer, and that is far too much in my eyes.
Any suggestions?

Thai Cooking Class/School For Thais

2011-02-08 23:03:32

My thai wife wants to learn more about cooking thai dishes, preferable with a western twist so she can use it in her job in a company kitchen in Norway where she serves lunch daily for 50-60 people. She have contacted the "ordinary" thai food cooking schools here in Phuket that offer cooking classes for tourist, but they don't want to have thai citizens as their customers...
We are here for 2 months holiday now, and she would be grateful for any info where she could go and develop her skills.
