Hi,
I am scheduled to get my non-imm B 1 year extension and work permit this week. But I am wondering if I am able to leave Thailand once I get the visa. I don't work for 2 months over the summer holiday and I would like to do some traveling but I have read that if you leave Thailand with the non-imm B and wp, you need to have them cancelled or have some kind of letter from the school that allows you to leave, have some kind tax form from the school and then you need to start the entire process over again when you reenter.
I am not leaving permanently nor am I quitting my job, I just want to be able to travel during the summer break.
Is this possible or am I stuck in thailand for the entire year?

Is The 1 Year Non-Imm B Extension A Multi Entry?

Possible To Get A Tourist Visa Now?
2012-04-17 12:53:23
I am currently on a 90 day non-imm B without a work permit. I am working "on probation" (either myself or the school can elect to not continue after the period is over) which is now ending. The school wants to process my WP and get the 1 year extension. However I am not wanting to continue with this school. Is there any problem with me leaving Thailand and getting a tourist visa to return? I don't have the WP or teaching license or anything else that would need to be canceled or turned in, but is there anything else I would need to take care of before I would be allowed to leave?
In addition, I have had 3 visa waiver entries since December 2011 (when I was looking for a job). Isn't there some kind of limit as to the number of entries allowed in a 6 month period?
Thanks for any help!

Visa Runs For Chinese National
2010-06-25 05:20:31
My wife will be arriving on a VOA in July. Being Chinese, she can only get a 15 day entry. We were thinking about doing a run to a Thai embassy in a neighboring country (Myanmar or Laos)and then flying back in. But, someone I talked to said they thought a Chinese citizen can only get a Thai visa in China. On the website, the MFA only says:
7. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS (FOR TOURIST VISA)
Nationals of certain countries are required to apply for a visa only at the Thai Embassy or Consulate-General in their home/residence country or at the designated Thai Embassy.
Does anyone know if a Chinese citizen can get a thai tourist visa in a different country?

Run Needed For Multiple Visas?

I've never dealt with getting multiple visas at once, but my wife is chinese and we will be arriving in Thailand on VOA's (I'm american). Since she only gets 15 days and I get 30, I was thinking about her getting 2 back to back VOA's. I am guessing that if she does this, she wouldn't need to leave Thailand after the first one expires (kinda would defeat the purpose of getting two at the same time). But, I figured it would be best to verify here before doing it.
Does she need to leave between the two?
Also, are tourist visas still free, or are they charging for them again? I read they were going to stop being free starting around June 2, but with he low tourism numbers, I would think they would drop the fees to get tourists here.
Thanks!
