i'll be flying into BKK, then cycling east to cross the border at pailin.
i expect the first night will be in phanom sarakham. no lodging problems
there.
the next day will be cycling highway 3259 thru tha takiap and khlong takrao
to highway 317. i've been told there is a guesthouse in wang nam yen.
that makes for a 130-km day.
is anyone aware of a guesthouse along highway 3259 that would give me the
option of cutting this into shorter segments?
even an alternate destination the first day, perhaps plaeng yao?

Thai Maps At/Near Bkk Airport?
2012-04-15 18:30:40
howdy, i'll be flying from yangon into BKK in july, then bicycling directly
to cambodia via phanom sarakham, and highway 3259 thru the national park.
i'm living in china now, and the only thailand maps i've found has a scale
of 1:3.6 million.
i've got a couple THINKNET maps of northern thailand, much more useful
for cycling with a scale of 1:550K, and both thai and english.
needing this one:

anybody know if this series of maps is available at any of the shops inside
the airport? or recommend a bookstore near the airport (lat krabang district)?
i posted on lonely planet also, got a possible bookstore inside the airport,
and an asiabooks 15km away.

Pharmacy (Online) That Ships From Thailand
2011-06-20 18:03:50
Hello all, writing from china. I left thailand last year with nearly one year's worth
of cholesterol medication. now i'm down to less than three months supply, and am hoping
to locate an online pharmacy in thailand that will ship outside of thailand.
this is all legit meds, looking to buy BESTATIN produced in thailand. this is available
OTC at most pharmacies in chiang mai, but i can provide a prescription if required. i
could go with some other generic simvastatin, but this here bestatin has worked out well.
have had no luck searching online, and it's not available in china that i've found so far.
heck, try try saying 'cholesterol' in chinese!

2010-07-23 20:11:04
the chinese consulate has recently raised visa fees for usa passport holders.
fee schedule for 'merkans was whited-out (whit-out?), new prices written in
by hand. didn't notice any fee changes for other nationalities.
new fees are now:
4560 for 4 day service
5260 for 2-3 day service
5760 for next day service

Ems Delivery On Sundays/Holidays
2010-07-23 20:06:34
I've done a search and am getting conflicting information.
Does EMS (that would be Express Mail Service, not Emergency Medical Services!)
deliver on sunday or during the upcoming no-booze holiday?
One thread says no delivery on sundays.
Another says yes, delivery on sundays.
The dude at the post office don't know.
