Thailand has been opened enough to allow foreigners to take benefit from the country," he said.

Carlsberg can take that statement to the bank.

#5315792 Ban On Vitamins.

There is also a movement in the FDA (Food & Drug Administration) in the States to get everything that isn't already, under their control.  Natural foods, raw milk, vitamins and supplements.  This is hand in hand with the effort there to make organic farming illegal.  Perhaps Thailand by imitation or through coercion is trying to be like them.  Thank you Monsanto.

#5292572 Facebook Sign-In Required To Comment At Nation Newspaper

Posted manarak on 2012-05-11 20:43:09

of course fake facebook account.

facebook is dangerous.

I see where facebook is going, they will transform into the worldwide center for certification of internet identites - with a push further, they can add official ID checks and also offer digital signature services.

Everyone misbehaving on the net while using their Facebook login will be identifiable and prosecutable - the dream of all the newborn police states.

Thank Buddha this will not happen as long as hackers can prove Facebook is not secure.
Go Hackers!

Come on George...this has been going on for ages but your email header "Warning" is misleading - it doesn't take your card. Just hit yes or no and either way the card comes out..

#5253221 Bangkok Immigration Police Arrest Italian Man For Porno Production

Clearly broke the law; deserves some punishment or extradition.  But to use the computer crimes act really shows what a horrific law that is.   It's Thailand's Patriot Act.

I suspect this is fictional because a picture shows two Thai's looking at a map.

On one hand I know I'm not into anything dodgey so I'm quite happy as I know this is ultimately being done to protect my country. At the same time though it does feel a tad too much of an invasion into my privacy. What if such information were to fall into the wrong hands?

It is not being done to protect your country, it is being done to tighten the noose of control around you and the rest of us. Stop kidding yourself it is for the benefit of the country, the war on terror is a manufactured money printing scam. And yes, what about the data? One emergency order/decree and they could do away with the requirement for a warrant in an instant.

One of the best and most truthful posts i have read in a long time.

That facts are when you scare people and create fear you can control them. Fear is the easiest way to control. Tell them how you can protect them from their fear and they will accept without thinking for themselves.

Its to easy for them.

#5187646 Britain to introduce legislation to monitor internet use

Posted SaNim on 2012-04-03 10:47:35

When I first saw this on the BBC I assumed it was an April 1st joke.

The I saw it again in The Telegraph.

Its another erosion of civil liberties.

The UK has lived with terrorism for a long time , previously there was an attitude of taking sensible precautions but not letting the terrorists change the way of life.

It seems now they have changed how people think and act, they have won this war. UK is now compared to Iran. Defeat is complete.

For UK et al  to fight back they need to go back to leading a free and democratic way of life without being beholden to the fear of violence.

Dyed hair is bad enough but the one that gets me is the Bobby Charlton comb over, you know the 15 to 20 single hairs combed from the top of the left ear all neatly spread out across the shiny pate. Believe me guys shaved head looks a lot better.

A comb-over was the old name. It's now called a Bar-code.

#5137800 Stop Popping Pills, Thai Public Health Warns

Same in UK and USA. You lot must use the wrong doctors because my Thai doctor never gives me pills. When I have had some health issues we've worked together to resolve them. You should find yourselves new doctors if the ones you already have are so bad. But I think most of you make these stories up for a bit off attention. I know plenty of Thai people who don't pop pills, so maybe you hang around with the wrong people.
Good for you. However, it's known that Thais in general pop pills like they're m&m's, and the OP mentions that fact. Your doctor is an exception, if he doesn't prescribe loads of pills. Good for him/her, and hopefully more Thai doctors will follow that person's example.  Also, 99% of regular Thais don't have the luxury of shopping around and comparing doctors.

So I am an "authority in a vaulted position" as I also plan and prepare banquets for esteemed foreign guests.
I must be the exception to the rule as I always include lashings of MSG to demonstate an authentic thai taste experience for my visitors.
Your anecdotal "hearsay" does not provide any scientific evidence to prove that MSG is harmful.
You are entitled to your opinion but without any empirical data to say otherwise your connection between the health of thai people and MSG is tenuous at best. Sanuk  Posted Image
If you prepare food using MSG, then you are poisoning some people, as some people suffer ill-effects from it.  Perhaps it's only 15%, but are you ok with poisoning 'only' 15% of your clients?  I wouldn't hire you to plan a banquet.
In several posts here on T.Visa and several letters to major newspapers I've articulated how I and many others suffer debilitating symptoms from small amounts of MSG. I resent anyone putting a substance in my food which gives me headaches, rapid/weak pulse, violent dreams (yes, it does adversely affect brains cells and, for that reason, is particularly bad for kids) and other unpleasant symptoms.
