Some off-topic posts and some baiting and inflammatory posts as well as replies, have been deleted.

Out of curiosity, were the white farmers who left or were expelled citizens of Zimbabwe?

Born and bred, every bit African as a modern black American rightly calls themselves American.

#5207183 What Do Zebra Crossings Painted On The Road Mean In Bkk?

Posted jinjinswing on 2012-04-10 20:25:22

Im not holding up well lately, the car menace on BKK roads has begun to really bug me, the fact that Thai drivers totally ignore humans including there own countrymen trying to use zebra crossing.
Ive spoken a few words from under my breath, pointed to the crossings on a number of occasions, i often force the issue or i will never get across...even got the TGF doing it now.
Now ive noticed them parking there cars on the footpaths, motorbikes using the footpaths, stalls on the footpath..were the bloody hell are we meant to walk?
And another thing when they gonna fix the footpaths? its a minefield, i tripped over in Chiang Mai early this year hurt my knee enough that i could not kneel on it for 2 mths.
I suggested to the TGF that they should tax property owners like they do in AU for upkeep of public property, i also told her back home there is no way a shopping center would allow stalls to sprout up around it, and while im at it the police were busy keeping the freelancers away from there haunts today by interviewing both farangs and thai women in a few spots around nana today, what a waste of time, get your arses out to ladphrao and get them drivers off the footpath and fine who dont stop at zebra crossings.
ps the working girls were back on there beat by 5 pm when the police had knocked off for the day..what a waste of tax payer money..havent they got anything productive for them to do?

#5207294 Do Thais Have An Obsession About Overinflated Car Tyres?

Seems like this discussion is like the shape of a tire, it just keeps going around and around and the baiting posts keep coming around and around.

I think this discussion has ran it's shelf life and is now:

A filthy rich, corrupt, duplicitous, murdering, election rigging politician who says he cares only for his people.

Thank goodness that doesn't happen here.

Someone here should slap a "R Type" sticker on their car, it adds 5 HP, good for racing too, you know?

FFS this is getting sillier as the argument continues.

A car manufacturer would not recomment tire side other than the size it came with.
If someone has a need to change the tires from manufacturer size to whatever, they better do their reaserch and perhaps contact tire manufacturer or their car manufacturer, not talk to know it all folks on internet forums.

And the pressures are.:D

there is a substantial difference between the DSG type gear boxes (a true clutchless manual car like what you find on a VW or Porsche which is engaging the gear above and below so you can manually change gears when you want and it goes straight into the next gear) and some of the paddle shifter 'manuals' which are more like an auto where you have some ability to select gears, but it makes changes in its own time using the 'brain' of the control unit.  many of the paddle shifter units are not the dual clutch system, some are.

The VW Golf 7 speed DSG is well worth a test drive, it supposedly outperforms a manual with clutch gear box in quite a few operations, although many purists still don't like it.

I'm with TA here, the pressure on the sidewall is maximum pressure and not related to driving pressure. Follow the door sill  instructions. A bit higher doesnt hurt (i wrote "a bit' as in few psi), under pressure is more dangerous since it builds up heat rapidly.
Hak

Thanks Hak, your post really simplifies what l have been trying to put over.
.

.
If you only knew??? Posted Image He also mentions over-inflating, or is it?? No one has answered that question yet including you have they??

Read Hakku's post veeeeeeeeeeeery slowly, then read it again veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery slowly, THEN, even you might understand what l have been trying to put over. You have condoned inflating a tyre OVER the SAFE MAX pressure printed on a tyre. That's it, no further waffle Wop Speed. You seem to look at THAI motoring as if we are on a race or rally track instead we are looking at regular rides, trucks in the main. As I said before, your talk is dangerous to those who ''might'' not understand stuff. Posted Image

Safe Max pressure printed on my tyre is 65psi.
I run it at 52psi, so now you are agreeing with me that I am good to go.
Nice for you to agree that I win the discussion, thanks.

What you are referring to is lawless freedom, that allows the drunk driver to pay his way out,and buy your way out of many other crimes too.

Nobody likes paying Parking Fees, but hey, is that one of the reasons to leave home?

Whilst I don't like the way men are being watched in case they are a Pedos,I accept, that at least someone is doing the necessary observation,if you are not a Pedo, you have nothing to fear, only a little injured pride,I can live with that, if it helps stop the Torture of innocent children.

And what's wrong with Security at School Gates,Remember the Nut cases (in the UK & USA) that gained access to schools and shot/slaughtered  kids and Teachers wholesale,a few years ago?

The reason my money was diminishing was that as i earned rather a lot,if i retired that would go down ,it did not mean i was poor, happily if i should succumb to an illness i am well able to pay my bills here. but thanks for the concern.

Ok. So you did not retire in the UK. Does this mean that you are employed in Thailand? If so what is your occupation? I too am financially secure, but I have limited confidence in the Thai medical system. There is no accountability and a foreign patient  hasn't clue if the hospital  he is checking into has a c.difficile infection crisis or if the ventilation ducts in a surgery are contaminated with mold.

When the ambient temperature changes in Thailand can cause the tyre pressure of a parked car to alter by 4psi in a 24 hour cycle.
I would like to know how to keep my tyre pressure at a constant 29psi? and not 25psi or 33psi.

A lot of people have dropped off the scene here. I suppose some of them tire of being bashed everytime they express their opinion. After all, if you were having a discussion in person with a group of people, would you stick around if someone continually put down your every comment? The trouble is, the people who do this are so unintelligent that they don't even realise how moronic they are being. Gawd only knows how they ever learned to use a computer...
