Take along your passport and any old address and 15mins later you'll have a bank card.

When you said an old adress what you mean? its the same than the house registration? for a tourist, house registration is not possible, am i wrong?

There is a nice trail up the highest mountain in the Ao Nang area in Krabi. Follow the road from Nong Thale to Khlong Muang, then continue to Thap Khaek and beyond. There is a parking spot at the end of the road. The trail starts there. No round trip; you go up and back down. Splendid view from the mountain top (about 500 m high; start at sea level).
There are guided tracks of a few days in the Khao Phanom Bencha mountains (over 1300 m high). Take the road from Krabi Town to the airport. Just after the Talat Kao traffic lights turn left to Huay To waterfall. The road ends at the national park where you can stay and get more information. There are also a few shorter tracks in that park.

Nice one, how is the safety thing for both trials? i mean, wild animals? wild humans xD? . For the first one (to Thap Khaek and beyond) seems not neccesary hire a guide, its that so?

I started to think about a trial on the hills or mountains in some national park and a long walk through an island, with waterfalls,  nice forest etc.

For national parks, i think im clear, but  are there in Krabi region some island to do a nice walk through it? it doesnt matter if there are not mountains or high hills on it, after a long walk, crossing forest and nature its very nice to discover some hidden beaches and to swim at leasure, if you know what i mean :)

Thanks in advance

As most Farangs living in Thailand know there are numerous other places to visit than Krabi, Phuket, Pattayar.

And there are even more places to disappear into jungles and mountains in Thailand that what one would find on printed pages.

Most individual provinces and their Governors and officials are not too well educated and therefore are not too much interested in promoting their most wonderful visiting and relaxing places.

Furthermore, many Farangs who discover and enjoy these secluded places are keeping these localities to themselves.  Most of these hideaway places are also not expensive to visit and stay.

You can pm me, if you still can not find any locality to your liking and utmost satisfaction.

Safety should be your uppermost concern, right?  And price, perhaps, second?  Cheers.

I quite agree its very difficult to find info, even from the DNP itself.

I have been trying to set up something (on the web) for sharing such tracks this last year but only have my own that are primarily Central Thailand at the moment. I would love to have anybody add tracks and info (Google -exploring natural thailand )

To the OP, it may not quite be what ypu have in mind but as a "trekker", if I had a few days in the south then Khao Luang would be my target. I have always wanted to walk the 3 day trail, its on my bucket list.

Thanks for the info :)

By the way, Wow, its very sad to heard that some people keep the places for themselves, to share is not bad at all, what could be the worst?  hordes of bloody tourist all of a sudden? Nah, trekking is not for hordes mate ;)  (hey, Vont, i will pm you if you dont mind, but later OK? )

I found this information , is quite old, but could be interesting comment it, there are many places, and the Sura Thani trek seems interesting, but not too much info :(
