Hi Guys,
Just thought I'd give an update to our processing times for our Subclass 309 De-facto Partner Visa.
My G/F got a call to arrange the interview on 23/09 and attended Today 28/09.
She said all went very well, the interview lasted around 45min.
The case officer was satisfied with all our documentation and she said we should have a result within a week or so!
71 days so far.........

Several prominent UK charities have taken up Mr Moss's cause; Headway, the head injury charity and the Virgin charity.
Mediaviation which does evacuation flights is also raising funds.
As reported in the press, Mr Moss, a telesales worker, from Tooting, south London, went out to Thailand at the start of this year and spent six months travelling before his accident about a fortnight ago.
Another version is; Mr Moss, who lived in Franciscan Road and worked in telesales, went to south east Asia six months ago to travel - working occasionally to support himself. The crash happened during a night out in Chiang Mai, a province in northern Thailand popular with backpackers.
I wonder what exactly his "job" in Thailand was and the condition he was in while on his motorbike. I doubt he had a work permit.
Although I do sympathize with his mother who has flown to Thailand to care for him, I do wonder why people are expected to pay for his medical care because he chose not to carry health insurance? I would be more compassionate if he was jammed up because his policy did not respond or was inadequate. He made the decision not to have insurance. Not nice I know, but people don't like nanny states. Fine, thenthey should take responsibility for their lives.

Oh do me a favour, please.
What a cold and heartless post.
This kid has been left paralysed and blinded. A fate worse than death for someone so young.
And no way do you sympathize with the mother, and the pain and heartache she must be going through. How could you when you make comments such as this? Who cares if the kid had a work permit or adequate insurance coverage.
I just wonder if you would say the same if this were your child. My money would be on that you would expect people to have sympathy and perhaps show kindness and help.
Use some tact, please, because maybe the relatives are reading this.
Here Here!
Could not have said it any better myself.
More like a geriatric twat
Tragic accident and my sympathies are with him and his whole family (not just his mother)
I hope he makes it back to England soon..

Thanks for all the help everyone.
I will go back there in december for 3 weeks, and i hope she can come here after that.
She is in Phuket so we had to use the embassy approved courier people there last time to send it to BKK.
I will get some help with the next visa application and make sure everything is right.
One other question,
I have been using pre paid calling cards to call her from Aust, because its heaps cheaper than using my mobile, I know i need to do it some other way to have proof of my calls, whats the best way.?
I have e-mails, but we mostly chat online with yahoo instant message.
Once again thanks,

Not sure what everybody else uses Jason, I haven't found better than Pennytel - 8c calls untimed.... If I'm @ home then use it via a program called XLite on my PC, or the Pennytel app for my Iphone. If i'm out then Pennytel give you a local Australia phone number which when called will forward the call to your designated overseas number (still for 8c).
Pennytel log all the calls which are available online to download.
Have you called BKK embassy to discuss the refusal? Personally I wouldn't be waiting until December to re apply..... Laaeo De Kun!

Hi Jason,
have a read thru that post, my situation didn't seem all that different to yours ?
I always liked to speak with the case officers to try and gain as much info as possible prior to lodging each one.
I'd give the embassy a call, speak with the case officer directly and explain that you'd like further clarification on the refusal so that the "concerns" can be rectified and lodge the new application straight away.
Good luck

Hi Bridge,
My G/F and i lodged our 309 partner visa on the 20th July at Thai CC, sill haven't received any correspondence from immigration.
We submitted a fairly comprehensive application and are confident that the embassy shouldn't require any additional documents.
I called the embassy to confirm receipt of the application on the 28/07, spoke to "Varisa" she confirmed receipt but said that we still hadn't been assigned a case officer and that they were currently very busy with waiting times at least 3 months .
So hopefully that next point of contact will be the embassy booking the 1st interview in the next couple of weeks.
Have you been involved in any recently Bridge?
regards
