I recently acquired 10 approx. 3-month hens for layers. Working out good so far, as after a couple weeks all 10 girls are productive.
My problem is that I can't find a source for chicken feed (I don't want to make it myself) except from the place we bought the chickens. They want 18B/Kg and that is really close to break-even on the egg production.
We live in Udon Thani province and I have sent email to CPF with no response. SO... does anyone know where to get good chicken feed in volume near Udon Thani? I would be looking at about 300Kg for almost 1 year supply.
Cheers

Hitachi 280W Water Pump Operating At 600W
2012-03-29 18:42:25
So, I recently acquired an ammeter and find that my "280W" water pump is actually pulling about 2.7a (600W @ 220v). It's about 2 years old and have no complaints: it supplies water when needed (pressure) and while it's not gusher strength, it's adequate.
If there is a start-up higher, I can't see it - the constant is about 2.7a.
So, can anybody 'splain that? I opened up the cover and there's a container with 3 screws on the input side that I thought might have a filter. But, when I started unscrewing, it squirted water even after I thought I relieved pressure. Since I didn't really know what I was doing I just re-tightend.
Thought? Suggestions? I konw it ain't broke so maybe I don't want to "fix" it

Up Country Internet Service Providers
2012-03-02 19:42:09
I live in Udon Thani province and currently using AIS (well I forget the "name") internet service via my cell phone - 200B for 50 hours. The problem is, where I live the signal is dodgy - even for voice. Like I NEVER have consistant 4 bars and so my bandwidth tends to go sciotic. Just wondering if there's anything new somebody knows? I've looked at radio modems but pricey and I'm sceptical they would be much better. And just horror stories for the satellite options. Any suggestions otherwise? Cheers.
Retired With B800K In The Bank
2012-02-23 19:58:08
So, been here almost 20 years and am doing the retired visa maintaining B800K in a Kasikorn bank account my name only (which immigration said I had to do that way.) So, it won't matter to me when I die, but just wondering what happens to that account when I do kick the bucket? Like, would that be "property" of my US will? Or, does Thai law take over and something else? Just wondering if anybody knows?
