Settling Down

2012-05-28 05:09:07

I was wondering how long it took for those of you, who moved to Thailand for good, to settle down as a family? What did you do in the time in-between and was it a stress factor for the family?

Regards,
Bob.

Chess In Thailand

2012-02-12 20:33:12

Hi

What are the options of playing chess in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, for young children? Here in the West there are many chess clubs and almost weekly tournaments for the children to attain. Is it similar in Thailand?

Best wishes
Bob.

Publishing A Book Through Thai Publisher

2011-08-12 13:34:56

Hi

I am in the process of writing a book (related to Thailand) which I would like to publish worldwide and in Thailand in particular. I currently live in Europe and plan to get my book on Amazon and the likes, as co-operating with a Thai-publisher (located in Thailand) to get my book distributed to Thai bookstores thorugh their dometic network. All fine so far i suppose.

Question is, what if I move to Thailand within a year or two - after the book is published - and still receive regular payments from the Thai-publisher on the book sales, do I need to obtain some kind of Work Permit, to legally receive the money if they are transferred to a Thai bank account? Or do I make things to complicated for myself?

Originally plan was to live in Thailand on a plain "Visa O" (marriage visa) with my Thai wife and kids.

Thankyou all for your time to answer my qustions.

Kindest regards
bobthedog.

University Fee For Thai Children?

2011-06-19 03:38:04

If my children are Thai citizens, can they take a bachelor and master degree at a Thai government university for free, or will they need to pay? If not free, what kind of costs should one expect to pay?

Thanks :-)

How Long After Getting Visa Must I Arrive In Thailand

2011-05-25 17:58:42

Hi,

If I (and my children) get a Non-Immigrant Visa Type "O" with the purpose of staying with my thai wife (and mother of our children), then

1) How long after the visa is issued, must it be before we actually arrive in Thailand. Any limit here, can it for example be 3 months later?
2) As my wife would probably go to Thailand before us, will it be a problem for us getting through immigration, if she is not "by our side"?

Thanks and best regards,
Bob.
