Seats On Longhaul Air Asia Flights?
2012-03-29 09:09:18
I was looking at the seat map for some longhaul Air Asia flights (maybe Air Asia X). I notice that in the back several rows, instead of being 3 seats on each side, there are only two (with the middle seat missing). Does anyone know what that's about? Are those good seats? It would seem to be, because you don't have anyone sitting next to you. But maybe the map isn't accurately representing the situation. If you've been on one of these plans and have some insight, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
Hotel On Stilts In Peninsular Malaysia?
2012-03-03 11:38:49
I'm looking for a special occasion hotel in peninsular Malaysia. I've always wanted to stay in a hotel that has individual rooms/bungalows on stilts over the water. Anyone know of one?
I found one (Golden Palm?) that is near KL, but it's too big (400+) rooms, and the beach area doesn't look very nice. There's a beautiful one on Pulau Pangkor Laut, which is nice because it's only 3 hours driving from KL, but the rooms are pricey (400-500 USD/night for a room over the water). I'm willing to fly from KL if necessary.
I'd love any suggestions about a good place to stay!

Rosetta Stone In Bkk?
2012-01-16 09:07:45
Does anyone happen to know if the Rosetta Stone programs are available in Bangkok? I'm not looking for Thai or English, but for other languages. From reading previous threads it sounds like the Thai version may be available in bookstores, but I don't see talk of other languages.

Re-Entering As Tourist After Non-B Expires
2011-12-07 07:34:23
I know that I've come across several similar threads over the years, but I'm not sure if any of the situations exactly match mine (or if the info is accurate), so I'm hoping someone might have experience with my question.
I've been working in Thailand for quite awhile, so I have a visa (or is it an extension?) stamped into my passport every year. I also have a work permit, as I've been working here ever since I arrived. The current visa extension & multiple re-entry permit in my passport expire April 30th of this year. That's fine, because I am quitting my job in mid-April and plan to leave Thailand to relocate to another country.
I want to travel before I leave, though. If I leave the country towards the end of April and then try to re-enter in early May, I can just enter as a tourist, even after several years of non-immigrant visas, right? I'd only need a week or so to gather up my belongings and leave Thailand for good. If I re-enter by land I can get a 15 day tourist visa, or a 30 day tourist visa if I enter by air, correct?
I've read about people being denied back-to-back visas, but that wouldn't apply in my case? Hopefully?
Thanks.

A Nice Place Near Vang Vieng?
2011-09-29 17:01:24
Hi, I was wondering if anyone could suggest a place to stay that is somewhere near Vang Vieng (or between VV and Vientiene). We are looking to just relax and enjoy the beauty of the Mekong, so I'd prefer to find a place that's away from the noise of the backpackers/tubing/parties. So, ideally a place right on the river would be nice. Any suggestions for towns, or even better, specific hotels/guesthouses? (Budget-wise, probably looking for something in the upper mid-range.)
Thanks!
Thanks!
