Wrong again.

It is an English Bull Terrier.

Please go to the thread I mentioned above for the correct information.

Uh, here's a bulletin for you: the dog pictured is NOT a pit bull terrier. It's an American Bull Terrier, and nothing like a pit bull.

Just saying...think Spuds McKenzie.
Yes, it definietely is an English Bull Terrier, I've bred English bull terriers and Staffordshire bull terriers when I lived in the UK, I now own a Pitbull. The nickname for the English bull terrier is "Gladiator"

Tourist police have no right of arrest, they are basically a waste of time and only useful to negotiate the price a foreigner has to pay a Thai (if involved in an accident etc),,,thats why if something serious involves a Tourist the Tourist Police must call the Local police to sort it out!!!!!!!

they are just translators

Both you and jfcChandler are both wrong in what you say. The Tourist Police have the same powers of that of the Royal Thai Police and as for you jfcChandler, The Tourist Police have been very helpful towards me on the occassion that I needed some very important advice. They were very friendly and very knowledgable in the laws of Thailand. I have no doubt that other people have also used the Tourist Police. Some may well be satisfied with their actions and others may not be. I would never call them bad names, and unless you have had some bad dealings with them, I suggest that you keep your childish remarks to yourself..

While I don't condone his actions he was an easy target for the authorities.

I saw numerous incidents on the news of Thai's burning tires (many in front of policemen). Surely these incidents are far worse than an idiot mouthing off ?

Yes they certainly are, but they are done by home grown idiots.
No nation should have to put up with imports doing the same.
Why not - the UK and other countries tolerate all sorts of "mouthing off" - I dont agree with what he did but neither do I feel that people living in another country should always feel as if they have to behave like "guests" all the time - we should all be free to live wherever we choose rather than it being dictated by accidents of birth and nationality.
Are you joking Mr. The British Police do not allow as you call mouthing off as this idiot did, had he been in the UK he would have been arrested for offences of threats to commit damage and theft also of conspiring to commit damag theft and conspiring to cause a riot. A very heavy punishment of long term imprisonment indeed...

He was convicted and jailed. Normally that means deportation and blacklisted.

I sincerely hope that this moron is blacklisted from this Kingdom for life. What good is he here? I'm ashamed to be called British. On behalf of the idiot I offer my apologies.
An major (or even a minor) earthquake situated anywhere in Thailand would be absolutely devastating. Most newer homes are no longer built using the stilt-based methods, or the "Yai Homes" as the Wife and I call 'em, which I would presume to be safer than those made entirely out of concrete. Planning for a disaster ahead-of-time is a prudent measure.

I like the old fashioned Thai houses made from Timber, they have style to them. They have phased out building these type of houses because of the trememndous costs.
