Your extension of stay office would normally be the location for transfer - if you have moved you really need to change your address (what are you reporting on 90 day address reports).

I have reported my current Bangkok address on both of my latest 90 day reports, at least that is what I wrote on the forms!

Hi,

Thanks very much to you both for the detailed replies, I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out.

From both of your responses I can see that although the way I thought some things were said is right, I was a bit off on others and that I have a long way to go.  I found the progression from not being able to speak at all to where I am now (being comfortable in general day to day conversation, albeit quite simple conversation) was a hard road and that now I seem to be a little stuck - having learned most of the Nouns I wanted to and now moving onto the subtleties of tense etc.

So I will stick at it and try to find a formal teacher to help me get some kind of structure into my learning.

Again thank you and I will stick at it and hope I can truly master the language one day!

A little late I know but I wanted to update this post for anyone that may find it helpful later on.

I went to Rutnin on a Saturday at around 12pm and after explaining to the lady at reception who spoke more than adequate English what the issue was, she said I would have to see the eye Doctor and could I come back at a specific time a few hours later.  She then took my driving license and I filled in a form and was handed a small card.

When I returned later on I was directed upstairs where I was given a queue number and moved around a few various eye tests and then waited for the doctor.  The doctor spoke very good English and explained to me very well what the issue was, even taking a picture of my eye and showing me on a kind of projector exactly what the issue was.  He gave me a prescription and asked me to come back in two weeks.  Went downstairs and paid and picked up the prescription and booked another appointment.  I can't remember exactly but it was somewhere around 1400 Baht in total.

I came back in two weeks and waited a little while and then saw the same doctor who seemed to well remember what the issue was and did another examination.  Again explained very well what the issue was, much better that the "general" doctor I had seen at a hospital the first time I had the issue a few months before.  This time I paid somewhere around 1000 Baht in total and was happy that the issue had been resolved, so I guess he knew what he was talking about.

All in all very good experience, it is really a production line kind of place but to be fair they have a lot of people visiting them.  That being said the service was very polite and efficient and the doctor was excellent.  I would recommend to anyone with eye issues as somewhere worth visiting.
