Thank's 7by7. There does not seem to be question concerning my finances, which is important considering i am the paymaster for all things.

Part 5 states: Dependent children should enter parents’ details.

Then provide information required!!

No harm, Fella, no harm. And cause I don't subscribe to the 'wrap the little thing in cotton wool' way of thinking, doesn't make me a troll.

And having a uni degree bob has zero bearing on your ability to fill out forms in Thai.

You are suggesting that by suggesting something that makes someones life easier is a bad thing to do. At worst harmless. At best reducing stress levels.

No further response from me as it will be feeding the troll!

And what makes you think that his wife lacks confidence so much that this would be outstrip her ability? And she'd get flustered at the thought of answering some VERY basic questions on a form when she has the skillls to answer them....

You boys have some really fooked up ideas with regards Thai women .

At the risk of 'feeding the troll', what harm can it possibly do to provide a template for someone to fill in a form in a language not their own? I have made enough mistakes filling in the Thai version of the form over the years despite having a university degree! My wife became a bit of a 'frequent flyer' so very quickly these things became second nature to fill in.

His wife can chose to use it if she wishes, ignore it if she wants to.

No, but as he filled it in for her when she visited indicates that she may not be able to read and write English very well. In which case giving her an example to copy would be a great help, would it not?

When you travel to Thailand do you complete the Thai equivalent in Thai or English?

Yeh, that's a fair assumption I guess. But she must have enough English to fill a form in unless she didnt go to school a P3 kid would manage that.

I complete the Thai landing card in Thai but I lived and worked in Thailand.

I would fill in one for her to copy. Travelling is stressful, especially if it is the first time she has flown on her own. It is more a case of confidence than ability and is one less thing for your wife to worry about! These things used to fluster my wife who speaks and writes pretty good English.

Thanks 7b7,  I cant find anywhere that tells you if they will need to take them again, when we have returned to the UK on the settlement visa's they have always checked there fingerprints in the airport, I would say they use the same ones for ILR. Also, if they do need to do them I cant find out if I can go to the UK Border Office or I have to go to a dedicated Post Office.

The thing is the Post Office charge another £19 each to do this. It does read like you can have it done at the enquiry office if using the premium service only. Looks like another additional charge to pay!!!

Im sure time will tell and I will update once I know.

Thanks

Why must I give my biometrics as part of my application?
Providing biometrics helps to protect the identities of genuine applicants. Biometric residence permits make it easier for individuals to prove their identity, immigration status and entitlements in the UK. Individuals are locked into a single identity which helps the UK Border Agency tackle immigration abuse, child trafficking, illegal working and identity fraud.
What happens if I refuse to give my biometrics?
If a postal applicant fails to make arrangements to provide their biometrics their application will be rejected. If they fail to enrol their biometrics or refuse to provide their biometrics then their application to the UK Border Agency may be rejected.
If a premium applicant refuses to provide their biometrics then their application to the UK Border Agency may be rejected.
Why do I have to be fingerprinted again when I gave my biometrics overseas as part of my visa/entry clearance application?
This is to verify that an individual making an application in the UK is the same person who applied for the visa overseas and who came through the UK border.
