Sending Supplements For Personal Use By Post Into Thailand

2012-05-20 14:52:17

Hi

Does anyone have experience of sending a small amount of supplements for personal use into Thailand? I've ordered a couple of bottles of Erase and one set of Grenade in the UK. My folks regularly send me out small parcels containing teabags, paxo etc but I'm worried that having pills is going to cause me some problems. I don't want to get into trouble or have them confiscated but I cannot find any information on the legality of doing this. Neither supplement contains, what I would consider, anabolic stimulants in fact all the ingredients are natural, but I just don't know.

Any success/disaster stories would be appreciated.

Cheers
Nick

p.s. for the Grenade capsules, I'd remove the top so it doesn't look like a grenade!

Sports In Chiang Rai

2010-12-07 20:31:11

Hi All

Does anyone have info on organised fun sport in Chiang Rai? I know David runs a footie team and Dave, if you're reading this I'd like to challenge your guys to a 7 a side match against CRIS staff. Are there any runs up here like 10ks or cross country adventure races? I'd like to propose some indoor cricket and I think my school would let us use the facility. That would need 12 able participants of which I could gather up about 5-6.  If there is no existing 10k I might look into organising one and would welcome thoughts and ideas from members of the community.

I'm hoping to start an inter school sports conference for small CR schools and whilst I'm going to contact all the schools in the future, I'd be happy to hear any input from other teachers in CR. I'm thinking badminton, footie and basketball at U13 and U11. It will start tentatively this year and hopefully grow into a proper league next year..

Cheers
Nick

p.s. my last post was about a pet shop in CR. Should anyone be interested I found a great one. Take a right at the Adidas T junction and its a couple of hundred yards on the left (where they sell lots of paint, strimmers etc)

Good Pet Shop In Chiang Rai

Hey folks

Can anyone give me any pointers for a decent pet food shop in Chiang Rai? I'm looking for some calcium supplements. I've driven around and asked a few locals but with no luck as yet. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

How Much Does Your Thai Bank Charge You For An Atm Card?

2010-07-01 21:48:03

I've been with Bangkok Bank for about 5 years now and whilst I generally don't have any complaints I've never really liked the initial 200 baht charge for the ATM card. After a recent relocation I was informed that I must buy a new card at 200 baht if I want to switch my details to the local bank. My new job only pays through Siam Commercial and they decided to charge me 300 baht for just an ATM card (no visa and therefore can't buy anything with this card) If I wanted the debit facility so that I can buy stuff at the supermarket or book a flight online, I would have had to pay a lofty 800 baht. This does come with a supposed 5000 baht accident cover but I've already got health insurance. I've also noticed that should I decide to use any ATM other than SCB I get charged 20 baht (after I've already received my cash). The lady in SCM bank was super nice and actually apologized as I handed over my cash.

Just wondering if anyone's got good recommendations for honest banks that a) supply you with a card at no cost and B) inform you of charges prior to you using other bank's ATMs c) offer some genuine benefits? Everyone that I've spoken to says they don't get charged for their bank cards in their home countries.

It seems that banks are keen to charge me for the pleasure of accessing my own cash but don't actually offer me any benefits. I'd be happy to be proved wrong and would appreciate any positive tales of banks in Thailand.

Cheers
