Trying to assist a Thai girl to get from CM to samui for a holiday with her mate. They have cars but the drive is too much for them (why have the car).. And the flights are not cheap, also if you dont use Bangkok Air they are also messy time systems. Flying out of DM at 6am etc.

Bus services that have been used before, stop in all major cities on route, and she is adamant it is impossible to book a bus that goes from CM to samui as one ticket, that it will have to be CM to bangkok, find another one Bangkok to Samui or perhaps even Chumpon, bus, ferry, etc..

Is there any good online booking systems and or resources I can find scheduling and pricing ??

Is there any company that operates VIP buses that are more point to point. Eg one bus, one run, CM to Bangkok, and one that has fewer (of course best none) stops and changes all the way down to Samui ?? Does anyone with mini buses do something like this ?? My thinking is bigger the bus, more times its going to stop in every town.

I am trying to make this as painless and cost effective as I can for her. Shes not too snobby to use the bus, but the slow buses used in the past, stopping in every major town, will make a long journey in days of hellish travel. I might just treat her to the bangkok air flights rather than put her through that.

My various shed and garage space is full.. I could do with some kind of lockup / storage ideally in the southern side of the city but any ideas welcome.

Back in the west getting a lockup or storage in an urban area isnt usually that hard, but its not something I think is so common here.

Any ideas ??


Alternatively any source for a shipping container. Have a place it could go and would solve the same purpose. Again these are easy and cheap to find in the west, even ones made into offices with kitchens and showers go for only about a grand GBP, but no idea of a source at reasonable costs ??

I dont get 'some' emails from following / subscribing to a thread.. Others I do.. I think the pattern is..

If I create a thread, and tick the follow this topic at thread 1st post creation time.. I never get an email.

If I subscribe to an existing thread, even one I just created, I do get the emails..

I just noticed it again, yesterday I started this thread http://www.thaivisa....o-day-opinions/ ticked the email me replies tickbox, its in my follow threads section, yet I am getting no emails, and of course I have checked my spam folders.

Yet other threads that already run, that I then 'follow' are emailing me.

Its rebuild time, and I have just scored a new SSD to speed up the desktop machine for a rebuild with both the springs ubuntu and a windows partition.

As the RC of win8 has dropped, and as I often use the RC's full time in advance of the RTMs I was going to drop that on, but early buzz seems to be the same old one good release one bad pattern that MS has followed for a while.

Anyone real world full time running the Win8 RC and what do you think ?? Ready for prime time or stick to win7 and test it out with a virtual machine ??
