Scottish by birth and proud of it. And anyone who asks will be answered with "Scottish" - except;
A British national by politicisation , carry a British passport , and have no problem with immigration forms by writing British.
Learned a long time ago that creating a "storm in a teacup" with immigration officers (anywhere) normally is not wise.

Assume you are in Bkk. There are several Servcied office companies, like Regus, Servcorp and others who provide both "Virtual" offices (ie you can work from home and they provide you with an address and tel numbers - calls redirected to yuo) or they provide temporary office space with all the trimmings..
A google search of 'serviced offices bangkok' would show all these, or even the Bangkok Post..
As for full time offices, plenty of ads in papers or look around the area you want to be in ,,

On the specific case, it looks like a last ditch effort at this stage.
On the principle of Consular notification, yes the right should be there to notify your embassy / consulate, but as to whether it effects the fact you have broken local laws is another issue.
