Oh my god guys, yesterday i called into peppers in Ubon, I asked if they had english bread, and the girl behind the counter assured me and my thai wife that they had. My wife asked them if the bread was sweet or not, and they assured her it was not, They then brought a large and a small uncut loaf from the freezer, we asked once again if the bread was not sweet, and the girl assured it was not. I bought 2 loaves, picked up my brother at the airport, and was looking forward to a great english breakfast today. We cooked the breakfast, bacon, egg, sausage, tomatoes, and black pudding, we sliced the bread, and sickenly it was so sweet we could not eat it. It tasted as if it used this vanilla flavoured butter that you can buy in cheap thai shops. I am very sad that an english baker turns out such crap bread.why o why.

Thanks guys, cardholder, I know what you mean, all thai bread seems to be sweet. I used to get english bread from a franchise in Big C in Sisaket, and it was good, but suddenly they seemed to change the flavour of the bread and now it tastes horrible. As for the uncut bread from makro, i have tried it, and i can only eat it when it is toasted. I usually go to staffords in Prassat, I find his bread is great, and also his bacon, but some say his pies are great, but I have to say for me, they lack moisture., and I don't like his sausages. I have also tried steve from buri ram, and i don't know what it is,but both of the pastry on these pies seems strange, i think maybe they use margarine instead of lard in their mix, but i understand it is hard to get lard here. Anyway i here there is a place called peppers in ubon, that have bread, can anyone tell me anything about it. Lastly, can anyone tell me where the 108 place is in surin, as i understand he sells staffords bread.

Stevoo, not really sure that the Nirun condo is that quiet.Everytime i have been there it seems pretty bustling. Having said that there a couple of good bars there. I don't know if Legends is still open. but that was a good place to go, before hitting the town. Also across the road was the Shagwell hotel, run by a character called darcy from Australia, a real 100% genuine guy, again don't know if he is still there. Over the years there have been a few so called suicides there ( but I use the word loosely ) bacause the deaths were suspicious. But I also know a lot of good people there that will swear by the place. I think you can probably get a decent room there for about 5-6,000 baht a month, and like I said there are a lot of characters there. Best of luck.

Would just like to ask "zzaa09" if he was born anti-social or if he worked at it. Because if he worked at it, then I have to say, GOD YOU ARE GOOD.A real plonker but good. Why do you think that anyone who wants to help another person, has an ulterior motive.I know I may have upset a few people with my original comments on here, and i'm still not convinced that a lot of the regulars want any change, but at least I apologised if I did upset anyone that I didn't know. Back to the topic. As i said i met "brimacthai" last week and we had a good chat, I gave my opinions on what is wrong, and we seemed to be on the same wavelength. I was disappointed that suni did not have any imput, but hopefully she will follow the suggestions made by myself and many other people on here that want her to revitalise the FC. Hopefully over the coming weeks things will improve and then it will become a good place to go again, but that doesn't mean it has to go back to what it was when martin was running it, it can be more successful by changing with the times, moving on and becoming something different.I would love it to become somewhere where everybody can go and enjoy themselves, someone commented that you can't be all things to all people, sorry to disagree, but you have to try to give a whole range of people what they want. For some it has to be an extention of their living room at home, somewhere they can come and relax, maybe read the paper, or watch tv.For others it needs to be somewhere they can come and enjoy some privacy, just by sitting alone without anyone pressuring them to do anything, for some a place to bring their wives or girlfriends and enjoy a meal and a drink, and for others it is somewhere they can go and let their hair down and have a really good time. But it is up to suni to create that atmosphere. Another thing that I think she needs to do ( especially during the football season ) is open later at night. Now I also realise that not everyone likes football, and i would suggest that she could maybe open the upstairs into a sports bar, with big screen tv, comfortable seating, and a small bar. Because it is not just for football, but all other sports that people might like to watch. And people that don't like sport have the option of staying downstairs. Anyway I just hope that everything works out for her, and all the regulars that have frequented the FC over the years, but remember don't be afraid of change, you never know you might just like it.
