Dungeon Master on the Atari ST, way back in 1987, was the game that was so addictive I nearly failed all my second year exams at Poly!
It was a revolution in gaming and I spent countless hours to finish it at the expense of revision!
There were endless clones such as the Eye Of The Beholder series but none captured the magic of the original Dungeon Master
Sadly this genre of party tile-based RPGs fell out of fashion in the 90's.
Now a true Dungeon Master type game is out tomorrow, only with the latest graphics and tweaks. It's called Legend of Grimrock and I've had my eye on this game for a long time.
I've read all the reviews so far and every one has been great. The reviews say it captures claustrophobic atmosphere and panic of Dungeon Master beautifully and it supposedly has some excellent puzzles in the game.
I'm buying it from GOG.com as it is cheaper than Steam and you get a lot more extra's.
Anybody who loved Dungeon Master should make this an essential buy, especially if you pre-order it tonight before midnight as it is just $11.99 until tomorrow.

Will The 3G Of A Honk Kong Psp Vita Work Here?
2011-12-25 17:13:44
Picked up my Vita at MBK as a Christmas present for myself
All they had were the Kong Kong/Asia (not Japanese) model, which is the version I wanted
Can I get a 3G sim for it here or is Hong Kong a different 3G system?
BTW I LOVE my new toy.... Battery life is same as 3DS but it feels like a portable PS3
Not really too bothered as I have both True Wifi and AIS wifi I can use so that covers a lot of BKK
Just curious that's all

Portal 2 Out Now
2011-04-19 16:30:16
Just a heads up to let everybody know that Portal 2 is out now and I've been playing it for around a hour or so and think it is a great, VERY FUNNY game. The dialogue is even better than in the original Portal!
I am sure the voice of your robot helper is Steven Merchant and he is excellent as the the nervous robot
If you missed out on the original Portal, Portal 2 starts out from scratch so you are soon up to speed with the game mechanics
The graphics on PC are simply superb (which is why I resisted playing it on 360 last week)
It is also on PS3 and on PS3 it is the first game with "Steamworks" which means steam achievements and free DLC
Am dividing my free time now between Rift and portal 2.

I've been playing WOW off and on for years and also at one time subscribed to Warhammer and LOTR (have since cancelled all except WOW)
I liked Warhammer because of the "public quests" when everybody in the region has to pitch in and liked the story aspects of LOTR
Rift is a mix of all these MMOs
It has the best public quest system so far and everybody who does something once a rift opens and baddies start spawning (which can occur ANYWHERE on the map)
Also I the character builds are much more varied and basically you can be whatever you want. My Character is a sort of a warrior who can imbue his weapons with elements such as fire etc
However I also chose to have a pet who can take aggro and fight and I can also hurl flamebolts and such
You are not tied down to the typical MMO character - You can be whatever you like best
So far I'm loving it and the graphics are the best so far and it is very polished already
It also has the usual Dungeons etc
Overall a great game that has kept me busy since I bought it on Friday

Upgraded My Ps3 Slim To Waninkoko Cfw 3.55
2011-01-19 12:00:38
After a LOT of deliberation I went ahead and upgraded my 3.41 PS3 Slim the the new Waninkoko Custom Firware 3.55 yesterday
DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS IF YOU HAVE A "PHAT" (Old Style) PS3 as it will brick the console!
I am happy to report that the updating went without a hitch (first update to OFW 3.55 via PSN, then go into PS3 system mode and install the Waninkoko CFW 3.55)
Next I installed the Rogero Backup manager for CFW 3.55 and so far can play all the 3.55 games I could not play easily with my 3.41 console (for example Mass Effect 2 and Little Big Planet 2 - both original games I bought from MBK yesterday)
Google this for more info but it worked like I charm for me but don't blame me if you end up bricking your PS3
