In Topic: Document For Marriage Visa

Kelvin, you should go to the Thai consulate in Sing and get a Non Imm O visa, single entry. You then extend it in Thailand within 90 days of your arrival, at your local immigration office, providing the documents listed above plus Bt1,900.

You should be able to get the certified Thai translation of your marriage cert. in Sing before you come, the Thai consulate should be able to give you a contact there.

You then have to renew the visa extension at the office 12 months from your arrival and report to the office every 90 days.

Well done for looking after this poor animal. Does he/she understand English? If not you won't get an ID on this site. But the dog's name is "LUCKY"!

I agree with Briggsy - most of the development is being carried out by government employees on borrowed money. Also check out the number of new cars around.  There is also more disposable income in the villages where the rice price is about Bt15/kilo compared with about Bt9 three years ago. Real estate prices are increasing too. It seems to be common to most of Isaan.

You are wrong.  Farang is not an offensive term.
As can be witnissed by the number of times this topic comes up on the forum, being called a "Farang" is offensive to many people. Therefore it is offensive to them. Just because you may not find it offensive does not mean that it is not offensive.

I don't quite get it...

To call a jew a jew is offensive?
To call a black a black is offensive? (Negro is Latin for "black")
To call a Thai a Thai, is that offensive?
To call a Thai "Thai" is not offensive. However, in the UK in the '60s Asians would be called, by the less well educated, Packies - that is offensive.

To call a British person "British" or an American "American" is not offensive, but to call all of them "Farang" is.
