Heya!
As you know beginning of next month Thai people vote their new government. My girlfriend just learns German in Chiang Mai and would have to go home only for that. At all she'd have to sit 25 hours on bus, spend 2000 THB and waste about 3 days of our holiday. So our plan was to do this voting by mail but she told that the date to ask for this possibility already passed.
So can you tell us anything about what may happen if she not go to give her vote? She is sure that staff at embassy would ask her why she did not go and this also may affect her visa for Germany. I told that I dont believe this as we're married and nobody may deny her visa anymore as long as she may proof A1 and other stuff everybody has to show. Also it's the german embassy which gives the visa so I would not understand why they should ask a Thai national about this?
Regards,
Dennis

Does Not Going To Vote Affect Her Visa...?

Where To Work As Scientist With Thai Spouse?

Heya!
Through another thread I got back down to the crude reality that there were not really jobs for farang in Thailand exept the basic ones many people do or want to do. But for a German PhD chemist finding a suitable employment seems very difficult if not impossible. Meanwhile this circumstance really makes me crazy as somebody with my specialization (http://www.thaivisa....ost&pid=4290617) may get a job here in just a few weeks with salaries above 60K €/yr (>100K THB net / month) but in Thailand have to fight with the bachelors for jobs around 20K THB...
So before choosing the emergency plan to marry my girlfriend and take her here meanwhile I see another last option: Work somewhere else than Thailand or Germany where she may stay as an unmarried partner, too. But finding out which countries this may be is a hard task as one has to go very deep into googled threads and even laws to find the answers. Two I got already: Hong Kong should be possible and UK not, as long as not married. For the other ones I hope for your experience about work and Thai partners to get at least hints which countries it may be else.
Thank you very much for your help

Phd Chemical Engineer Looking For Job Not Only In Th
2011-03-17 23:52:20
I will finish my PhD thesis with the topic "Reaction Calorimetry for the Safety Assessment of Radical Polymerizations" in June and am looking forward for a suitable position throughout the ASEAN region.
My study was plain chemistry graded with an A-diploma and the recess to process engineering and polymer chemistry. As it may be assumed from my PhD topic in this my specialization goes to macromolecular chemistry specialized on their thermodynamics or easily concluded: process safety. With this I am the perfect match for all positions regarding questions inventing, improving or supervising chemical processes and their thermodynamics but also may cover other fields of chemistry which are not too specialized like e.g. molecular modeling or designing routes for molecule synthesis would be. Teaching also could be an option because although there is no specific certification for this it was my function to teach and lead students through practical courses and bachelor theses as well as giving lectures.
Flexibility and responsibility is given without exception which may be proven by a recommendation from Ethicon (Johnson&Johnson). Aside from this I am a team-player but may also work alone and have the autodidactic ability of learning and grasp new topics quickly. A full CV including grades and certifications is available on demand.
