Yes, getting old is a pain in the arse... Thought I had actually changed the resolution on my computer screen. After discovering I had actually NOT changed my screen resolution I went to Tesco Lotus and "upgraded from +125 to +150 with the cheapo 200THB readers.

I have a "kindle" from Amazon.com and you can buy/download books via your computer if you are not in a wifi area.
I ordered it while here in Thailand and only took about 3 weeks to arrive.
You will find many many books very cheap, and they even have a section where you can sell the books back after you are finished with them.
I will never need to buy another paperback again. Get a Kindle.

According to the Nissan website they do have a 2 door model with A/T. Not a bad price either at 735,000 THB with lots of standard features. May go to the local Nissan dealer tomorrow and do a test drive. A friend just purchased the Nissan fully loaded Caliber at just short of 800,000 THB. Nice pickup. Road out to the golf course with him today and rides nice but don't see a need for me to have a 4 door as it's only the little wifey and I.

It's their country and they can make whatever immigration rules they wish.
I imagine that if all the visa runners living in Thailand threatened to move elsewhere unless these rules were relaxed in their favour that the official reaction would be 'good riddance!'
Of course if you had the correct type of visa, e.g. marriage, retirement, work, then you wouldn't need to make visa runs; which are really only a way round the rules for those who don't qualify for an actual long term visa to live in Thailand.
It's certainly a lot easier for you, an EU citizen, to live in Thailand than it is for a Thai citizen to obtain the necessary visas to visit, let alone live in, an EU country. Maybe it's time for the Thais to place the same immigration restrictions and requirements on EU and other Western citizens as EU and other Western states do on Thai citizens!
