Private Plates
Black on White	Private vehicles with 7 or less seats, these plates may also carry a multicoloured background.
Green on White	Private 2-door pickup trucks and small truck with only 4 wheels - Lower tax rate than above
Blue on White	Private vehicles with more than 7 seats - Double Private vehicle tax rate
Commercial Plates
Black on Red	Dealer plates for new vehicles, please nore heavy fines are in place now for the usage of these plates for periods exceeding 1 month.
Black on Yellow	taxis and other chartered vehicles (tour/school vans etc)
White on Green	Limousines and airport taxis
Black on Orange	Goverment enginering/services vehicles
Green on Yellow	Tuk tuk's
White on Maroon	Police vehicles
White on Black	Royalty and military vehicles
White on Blue	Diplomatic vehicles
Black on White	Truck License plate, this plate carries the word Thailand at the top and the province 01=Bangkok
White on Red	Vehicles under repair or new trucks

Note: Plates must be stamped with the below image, plates that do not contain this image are forgeries and heavy fines exist for their usage, this image has the logo painted black, most plates the logo is painted the same colour as the background.
