    Busted For Not Carrying Passport

Hi, could you please provide a link to this as it seems a new law for me. This does apply for the Thai nationals who obviously have to have an ID card at all times and hand it over when demanded by BIB. By my understanding the Aliens are required to carry the original passport at all times. Personally, in Bangkok, I have been stopped at my home soi or taxi and got searched for drugs many times, no talk of ID/passport arose. Peace.

Thaksin Will Return With Pride And Dignity

Unbelievable. Here we go again. But "Will we get to win this time" - as Rambo said. These two fine gentlemen seem to have developed some understanding of the farang strategies in warfare. Why they both can't just settle it nicely like a Thai should. They could both win. And the country... Peace
  4. Someone hasn't quite got the hang of metric/Imperial conversions. 200 metres = 656 ft 2 1/64 inches 200 feet = 60.960 metres Or has Thailand switched to the water meter as a unit of measurement? Maybe they were not sure how strong a tele-lens the Democrat's had on their camera to steal the show to their screen. Anyway the Loy Krathong shows looked a lot better than this one. Who knows, maybe all the parties tried to put their effort together and collect some money to give to orphans and other unlucky kids at Christmas.. And peace on earth..

Thai Election Forces 2-weekend Booze Ban

So extending to private parties/gatherings, maybe? I hope the nice government guys would tell us was it more than 2 or 3 people not allowed to gather...? This starts to sound good. Especially on pre-election days. Will they crack down on 5 person in bangkok sharing a studio?
  6. Agreed. As long as both partners share and agree to this view. if it were only that easy,.sex and love,. ask these guys that came for a holiday and went with a bg , initially for sex, next thing, bang emotions ( normaly one sided ) then the trouble starts ,.if you are sure you can think as extra-marital relations as sex only then fine,.but if you are tempted to let your emotions slide, theres the start of problems, next you will be wanting to know what she/he is up to and then as you mentioned that ugly emotion, jealousy rears his head ,the rest as they say is history,.! Yea, That's what I meant.
  7. Agreed. As long as both partners share and agree to this view. I somehow agree with you. Love vs. sex is definitely a different thing. Then comes the jealousy. As I read the original post this woman is in some kind of a committed relationship. Then she's cheating the good hearted guy. Well maybe I misunderstood. When we talk about cheating we are already in deep moral definition of the word. I will leave the morals for everyone to decide for them selves but see the problem number 1 Diseases. Also to return the original point sex. Sex is sex. One night stand has nothing to do with having a 2nd relationship or affair. And will not hurt actual relationship, especially if agreed upon. Only in your mind if you wish. It can destroy it though. Then we can move to something called affairs. Fak buddies. And so on. This will bring the jealousy in the picture and so on. Probably personal fears of losing what you love or need. Well there are many kinds of relationships. Bambi didn't define these situations clearly but I hope you can understand my view on the subject. Sadly most people don't think this way.
  8. That's exactly how it has always been, at least for four years anyway. I don't know what is new about paying 1,900 for an extension, any extension. When studying for example on a four year bachelor program first they give you 90 days extension then 6 months then 1-year, depending on your progress on your studies. I thought this was asked by the school but might be always under only immigrations decision. If your studies will last only 1 year, then expect to extend every 90 days, or get a multi entry visa and leave the country every 90 days. That is not always been this way. I was told that it is a new regulation for student visa. There was a topic of this 'change' on TV some time ago. I still don't get it if for example 1 year Thai language school had ever given anyone straight 1 year stamp. The imm. at airport simply don't do it. Please someone tell me I'm wrong even it was 30 years ago. It is not about 1 year straight stamp, there is no such thing. it is about paying that bloody 1.900 bhat every 90 days. Extension, what ever 1,900! Get it! Nothing new. The 1900 bhat every 90 day is a new thing, not the extension. Get it?????!!!!! The immigration is still happy to give you 1-year extension stamps for serious academical multi-year program studies. To study simply to speak and write Thai language, how many years it takes? Is it a surprise that you don't get 1 year stamp for that? Someone please tell me they have got it before????
  9. Why should the Immigration department be concerned about whether the student studies or not? Should they start looking at exam results and report cards? If a student commits himself financially to a course of study, it's up to him if he decides to keep with it or not. I'd be more interested in finding out if a school would refund the money for a course if the visa or extension was refused at any time during the year. It would seem that the multiple-entry ED visa is a safer option. At least with this option you're clear for 15 months with no possibility of being refused. To make it clear for you ED-visa means education. So you can get it if you are a student at some school. After finishing or terminating the studies you are required to inform immigration immediately so they can cancel your visa.

  13. I assume you are referring to my reports of the many things that have happened to my girlfriend. I explained it already but maybe you missed those posts. She is small, she is cute, she is Japanese. That is all it takes to become a major target in Thailand. She also has to move around alot for work, unlike a Japanese house wife that might be alot safer because she stays home or in her safe community. Damian So it's a Thai thing? I suggest that we stop the speculation until some news come out or the threat gets closed.
  14. A lot of people seem to harp on this point. Any school offering education to foreigners would need to make the visa situation perfectly clear. Also the school is required to take care of all the paper work to guarantee the required extension of stay for the studies. Here's the envelope go to imm. office with 1,900 and a photo. Is it a surprise that they limit it to 90 days per time with all these private language schools, you don't study, no extension, simple.
