  1. I eat from street/market vendors on a regular basis and as far as I know never had a problem. I have had to odd morning where I have....how can I put this.....been a little bit loose, but I have never actually sick. But remember just because I don't have a problem doesn't mean others won't. We are not all the same. Interestingly, I have known a number people who have been sick after eating in a fancy restaurant here, but I don't recall anyone complaining about being ill after eating street food.
  2. Birthday gift - suggestions please

I always give my wife 1000 baht. She has never complained.....well not to me anyway
  3. I haven't been back to the UK for about six years, and I have no desire to go any time soon or possibly ever. It is no longer home to me now.
  4. Cloudy Lenses

I have never tried it myself, but I understand that cleaning the lenses with mosquito repellent that contains some DEET can be very effective. It's worth a try before you look at replacing them.
  5. Lesson number One - this is the brake...

I was being sarcastic.......and I have personally never owned an automatic car in my life, I just don't like them. But I have been told that some people in Thailand are taught to use both feet when driving an auto car. Two pedals, two feet, it just makes sense to them.
  6. Lesson number One - this is the brake...

The problem with only two pedals is it encourages people into left foot braking, something you can't really do if you have to operate a clutch pedal.
  7. It's a lost cause I'm afraid. Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect
  8. I don't think -5 is that shocking for Doi Inthanon at this time of year. Frosts are very common up there during the cool season every year.
  9. Unsightly farangs behaving badly.

I don't think it's a case of not giving a damn, it's more down to being completely ignorant of what's right or wrong. Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect
  10. Is there any other kind? I wasn't aware customers had any right to throw somebody out of someone else's business. Surely you complain to the staff and let them deal with it no matter where you are in the world.
  11. As everyday is a deadly day on Thailand's roads, shouldn't this law be enforced all year round?
  12. I.also get bored waiting for a flight to depart. I normally read my book or check out the shops though.
  13. Van crash leaves driver dead, hotel staff injured

One blessing is that, for once there were no innocent tourists killed or injured.
  14. ATM cards from UK.

I can't speak for the OP, but for me and maybe them it's not that simple. I never use my UK cards to withdraw money in Thailand but I do need them for online payments related my ongoing UK issues. Sent from my iPad using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
  15. What's KFC like? I've never been in one. I have always thought it must be awesome going on how popular it is worldwide.
