  1. I thought this topic was going to be about fruit..... Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect
  2. I used to go to Goodwood Revival meeting every year up until I moved to Thailand, and the Ford GT40s were always my favourite cars there, and they were up against many other exotic and priceless machinery. One year I was lucky enough to be in the paddock when about 6-8 GT40s were fired up ready to go out to do their qualifying laps. Amazing sight and sound. Another year we had a chat with Adrian Newey, the formula one engineer who was there driving his own GT40 in their race. I think they look best in the pale blue and orange Gulf racing livery.....
  3. I'm having a similar problem. Every morning I have to re-login even though the previous time I made sure that the 'keep me logged in' box was checked. This has been going in for a few days now.

  5. Was the dog waiting for an x-ray? Maybe the woman didn't that Thai thing and tried to jump the queue.

  8. Going back to the original story, this actually happened to me a few years ago. I had just parked in a car park for a CM shopping mall, tried to lock the car but the remote just wouldn't do anything. I wasn't alone either, there was another guy who had parked near to me who was scratching his head in total bewilderment. He actually called his dealership to get advice. I just locked the doors manually and went about my business. When I arrived back at my vehicle, the remote was working fine again, so something had clearly been interfering with the signal earlier. I wholeheartedly agree with some of the earlier posts regarding checking the doors before you leave your vehicle. But of course you see people all the time just walking off and firing their remote as they go. These things are never infallible. Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect
  9. Yes, all services are currently being done at the Promenada, and have been since (roughly) the start of this year. The old airport office is now being rebuilt, but I've no idea when it's due to re-open. Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect
  10. I've had the same problem. First with my Outlook address, this was never resolved. Then move recent with my old AOL address, which I never even tried to fix. I've just given up with the TV newsletter now. I'am still officially subscribed with both email addresses, but haven't received a newsletter with either for probably six weeks now. In a way it's good to know it's not just me. Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect
  11. My mistake, he is two years not two months. We do have books for both the Thai and English alphabets. My wife helps him with the Thai, as that is all just squiggles the me.....but the ABC book is my responsibility. Sent from my iPad using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
  12. We are, at the moment permanently taking care of our two month old grandson. About three months ago he was taken to the local doctors clinic for what I was led to understand was a routine IQ test. He had a tantrum and didn't interact or complete any of the tests he was shown. He was immediately referred to a child specialist at the local hospital, and one question we were asked was does he have a tablet. The answer to this is yes, although he has never actually interacted with it himself, we just sometimes (not everyday) let him watch educational baby cartoons on YouTube. We were told to stop this immediately. I personally don't no anything about bringing up kids, never having been a father, but this seemed a little extreme to me. In fairness, when he watches these cartoons he is totally in the zone, and barely responds if you call his name. But on the other hand.....he is clearly learning his ABC. I did read a while back that one problem with many young children is that many can't hold a pen probably because they are not given crayons and pictures to colour in as I was when I was a kid. They just have a very strong index finger from constantly prodding a tablet. Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect
  13. I always liked his tongue in cheek Bond. R.I.P Sir Roger, always the perfect English gentleman. Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect
  14. There is a way of checking if gold is pure by applying heat to the item. I have seen staff in the gold shops here do this when we have part exchanged old rings for new ones. They use a blowtorch of lighter. Pure gold doesn't darken when heat is applied, so I understand anyway. Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa Connect
  15. The problem with travel insurance is like pretty much everything else in life.....you get what you pay for. These days people go online, check out the compare sites and in many cases pick the cheapest option, thinking that the policies are all the same. But that's not the case at all when you read the small print. Sometimes activities like motorcycle riding are not covered on the cheaper policies unless you specify and pay more.
