Cheers guys, bloody helpful advice in this forum, it's really appreciated. Hopefully I can pass on some helpful knowledge in the years to come. So far my move back to LOS has gone well, and the information I have received on this website has played a good part in things going smoothly! JS Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

Thanks Khundon, I hope to drive down to the south with the family next month so appreciate your advice in case the new plates haven't arrived by then. My next issue to sort out the wireless mirroring from my phone on to the front screen. Also is it worth buying a rear recording camera? I am tempted as it's only around 3,000baht. Hi Nchuckle, I didn't by the Fortune as the equivalent model to my Mau-X would have cost me around 200,000b more. I couldn't justify the expense as I was already over budget. JS Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

When driving only the screen in the rear shows the live TV, not the front screen for obvious reasons. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

Thanks Jitar, I just at don't understand why I would have to stay driving within the province I bought the car from for a month. However, it's the rules, so I will get on with it I guess. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

Giddyup, they are annoying due to the restriction of supposedly not being able to drive between 6pm and 6am and the fact that you are allowed to dive in the province that the car is registered to. JS Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

So, after a few months back in the UK deciding to buy a Honda HRV, once I arrived in Thailand I didn’t!!!!! I was very close to buying a Toyota CH-R due to the technology and better offers given by Toyota compared to Honda. However, in the end I went over budget and bought a new Auto 3.0L, Iconic, 2 Wheel Drive Isuzu Mu-X. My first impressions of it our good. However, it is the first SUV I have bought so I cannot make any direct comparisons. The technology offered with the car is very good and the price compared to similar class vehicles (Everest, CX-5, Pajero, Trailblazer, etc) seems great – 1.389,000Baht. I didn’t think the DVD player was necessary, but all the other stuff like, electric closing side mirrors, rear view camera, front recording camera, Bluetooth, GPS, live TV, Number of USB ports, etc are excellent. The drive is nice and since I changed the wheels on the car from the 18in to 20inch I am generally pleased with the look. However I still the Fortuner looks better. The 5 year/100,000km is also good, as is the 6 free services (well labour only). The only really annoying issue is the strange red licence plate rule!!!!! Does anyone have any realistic timelines for how long this will take to get the proper plates? The dealership thinks it will be around 30 days. Also does anyone know how to use the wireless HDMI connection? My information books are in Thai and it will be another few weeks for I get the English ones. Any info as always will be appreciated. Thanks JS

    Thai bank account with benefits

Thanks for the all the replies guys. I gave a debit card but am waiting for the Bangkok Bank to give me a credit card which I applied for. My friend told me about this: https://www.ktb.co.th/en/personal/cards/debit-card/53 It looks pretty good. JS Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

    Thai bank account with benefits

Hi, with my school they automatically opened up a Bangkok Bank account, but it is just a basic current account. So I want one with mobile phone insurance and other perks. I am happy to pay a monthly fee. In addition, I would like an account which offers a decent credit card. I have applied for a Credit Card through Bangkok Bank but I believe the Credit Card won't be a Visa or MasterCard. JS Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  15. Hi all, I am just waiting for my work permit to come through and then will open a Thai bank account that offers various benefits. I was wondering with anyone here could recommend a specific bank and account that would offer a decent range of benefits i.e. mobile phone insurance, fraud protection, etc that is easier for foreigners to use. I assume there would be a monthly fee attached which is fine. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks JS
