  1. I am a tourist and I would pay the extra 610 baht to save four hours when traveling to Hua Hin. That's only about $20 USD. I only get three weeks off a year and I don't want to spend time in traffic to save $5 per hour. I have been to Hua Hin before and I would like to spend 2 or 3 days there again. I understand that the ferry may not be a viable option for retired farangs who have a limited income and lots of spare time.
  2. bus from Pattaya to Hua Hin

I agree that buses are a lot safer. I didn't know that the government wants to ban minivans. Thanks for the information!
  3. bus from Pattaya to Hua Hin

Another option would be to take a mini van from Pattaya to the Victory Monument in Bangkok. At the Victory Monument, you can take another mini van to Hua Hin. I did this a few years ago and it was pretty fast and economical. I don't know what the current prices are, but you could find current information with an Internet search engine.
  4. Whatever happened to The Avenues?

Here are two reasons, besides the ones already mentioned, that make the Central Festival Mall better than the Avenues Mall. 1.) The Avenues doesn't have the parking for the Double Decker Tour buses or the connections to draw them. The intelligent, beautiful and wealthy Chinese tourists that are adored and worshiped by most Thais. They are among the most desirable customers for shops to have. 2.) The Avenues allows street vendors to set up there shops on the lawn area and sidewalk in front of their mall. The vendors sell cheap Chinese made clothes and souvenirs. They undercut the prices of the items in the shops in the mall.
  5. Overpriced hypertension drugs pattaya

It may cost less to buy these drugs separately instead of in one pill. It will have the same effect on your blood pressure. I have purchased Amlodipine in Thailand before and it was inexpensive. If Valsartan is expensive, you may want to check the price of other drugs in the ARB class. If another drug in that class costs less, you can ask your doctor if he would consider changing the prescription.
  6. Thanks! Do you know if the include the end date? So is from Monday, February 22, 2016 to Thursday, April 21, 2016 59 days or 60 by their calculation. http://www.timeanddate.com/date/durationresult.html?m1=2&d1=22&y1=2016&m2=4&d2=21&y2=2016
  7. Thailand includes the end date in their 30 day visa on arrival giving the tourist 29 days in the country. I want to get a Tourist Visa ( Non-immigrant Visa 9a ) to go to the Philippines. The San Francisco Philippines Consulate's website says that the length of this visa is 60 days. Does this include the end date in the calculation or not? I need to buy the ticket before I apply for the Visa. I have searched this forum as well as the web and I haven't found the answer yet. Thanks, TheJayMan
