BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand on Friday held a nationwide Buddhist almsgiving ceremony to mark the passage of a year since the death of its revered King Bhumibol Adulyadej, a father figure to the nation during a reign that spanned seven decades.

MANILA (Reuters) - The head of the Philippines' anti-narcotics agency on Friday warned of a reduced intensity in the country's war on drugs after a removal of police from the campaign, which he hoped would only be temporary as his unit lacked manpower.

Khanun tropical storm is forming but has no direct impact on Thailand

The Meteorological Department issued the latest announcement on weather condition on Saturday saying the tropical depression in the East of the Philippines has now strengthened to tropical storm and us moving to the South China Sea.

Water runoffs broke floodwall in Sing Buri and flood riverside communities

 

Several communities in low-lying areas in Sing Buri municipality were flooded within a short period of time after a section of the sand-bagged floodwall which protects the communities from rising water in the Chao Phraya river collapsed late Thursday night.
